Jay has a fundraiser to make an appearance at tonight, so I'm going with him and we'll go to dinner after. Maybe some shopping, too, since the hotel happens to be across the street from a mall. We'll see.........

Sorry I missed Haley in chat last night. Couldn't keep my eyes open. Suppose I won't be around tonight either. Wish it was a Friday (sorry Sher, but I do).

Oh, and I THINK I finally got the riddle. Donna, your DUH made me think hard about it, and light eventually dawned on this Marblehead!

The Cemetery Story

I do 2 miles a day. In the cemetery. Actually. Only part of the 2 miles is in the cemetery.

Otherwise it'd mean I live in the cemetery. Which would be creepy dee. NOCD (that would be no offense cemetery dwellers)

I used to walk it. But recently I've started running. Guilted into it by La and NM.

GASP!!!!

I KNOW!!!

I'm gasping too. From lack of oxygen.

Anyways.....

I always have my Ipod with me. And. I sing. Along. Loudly. Because I can. Sing. That is.

Also because in the cemetery. There's no one to disturb.

Not that my singing is disturbing.

And.

I have really eclectic taste in music. As most of you know.

Last Memorial Day weekend. The Friday of, to be precise.
I entered the back end of the cemetery. As usual.

In the back there is a building. I'm not sure what they do in that building. I'm pretty sure I don't wanna know. Either.

I think it's the gardner's. Yep, that's it. Rakes and stuff.

So. This building kind of obstructs my view. Of the rest of the cemetery. Until I round the corner.


On this particular day. The tune of the moment was one by Aretha.

And.

Just as Aretha and me got to the part about feelin' like a natural woman, I rounded the corner of that building.

To a line.

Of 10 cars.

Visitors for the Vets.

They all got a good look. At me.

I think I brought them back to the day. Of the USO. Show.

Most of them grinned.

I grinned back. Gave a wave. And continued on my way.

Tink, hope you have a nice clean bathroom again. Make a new rule. All men (or at least the ones who live with you full-time) have to sit. It keeps things much cleaner.

It is our 21st wedding anniversary today. I guess that's a little woo-hooty of our own. I'm a very lucky girl.

Third, the Sleepydog and Sher Show has simply been on hiatus due to school starting. With more time on my own, I get out of the house more to run, bike, and order wine. Besides, wasn't it getting boring with me winning all the time? Last count was 29-6 for moi. Scared of sher? I scoff. I snort. I spew coffee (with cream) out of my nose. . .

Fourth, we now have a new show, Bruce and Horsey: Fightin' Crime One Neigh at a Time.

Fifth, we hairy-backed, balding, headlight obsessed, knuckle-dragging types have taken a beating the last few pages, and though we may resemble those remarks, as counterpoint let me say this. I do all the cleaning in my house. And. That includes bathrooms. With hairspray glommed onto every single inch. Like the La Brea tar pits. I have found dinosaur bones. And. Hair, hair, hair every where, where, where. And. Trash cans overflowing with every imaginable item. And. Toiletries oozing out of drawers, baskets, shelves, and sink space.
