No time to catch up now, guys. Just got back from a VERY fancy dinner. Thought I'd share some pics of some of my purchases from today. AND I got a makeover! For Free! Forty ROCKS!!!!!

After the shopping spree we went to the Mesquite Chop House. New place right around the corner. VERY fancy. I was impressed. Scallops for appetizers , salad, fresh herb bread, etc. I had the filet stuffed with Maytag blue cheese and the creme brulee for dessert. OMG. It was the best meal I think I have ever had in a resturaunt. I know I spelled that wrong.

Hey guys! It's time for intervention. Lacto needs some pixie-dust!

He has bible study in 1 hour, "His" children are sending his blood-pressure to the moon, and the thermostat on our side of the building (church) is broken! It's 103 degrees today!

Okay, the woman is good to me. But I'm not any better for the day.

Bible study: week 48 of Revelation and we finished chapter 17 tonight.
"My" children weren't what had my blood pressure up. In fact, I dont' know what had it up to the point where I could feel it and was getting a headache. I have perfect blood pressure. My children were pushing the wrong buttons today.
The thermostat: oh my. The problem with the A/C was not my fault. We had a power surge that really messed up the church. It knocked out the A/C for the offices of the church. What is my fault, yesterday when the service tech came to repair the unit, yours truly told him the wrong unit. He has been fixing the unit that was just fine (some are asking, "Shouldn't the repair person know when something ain't broke?") and not even touching the one that wasn't running. Boy, won't he feel like a sap after talking to my wife like she was an idiot. He should have saved it for me.

Nah, nothing so grand and poetic.

I believe in the post-modern movement away from the rational/logical need to explain everything. I believe in the essence of story and metaphor for understanding. I believe we are in a post-literate age where images are the lingua franca and the written word is passing into misuse. I believe we are in a changing time. But I dont' believe we have arrived at what we will be.

And I'm a child of the '80's.
