This morning’s practice ... I had my iphone open watching the clock... 7:59... I had my finger paused over the “find out more button”.....waiting, waiting, taking along time to click over to 8:00 - then suddenly the clock on my iPhone said 8:01! WHAT????? Ugh- all initial boarding groups gone. I have never seen my phone glitch on the time before.

Yay for you and them. I hope it's well worth the the wait for them!

Also, it's mildly comforting backups lasted til almost 3 minutes after today. My iPhone wouldn't let me request boarding group today even tho I clicked at same time as my crappy phone. I would have gotten a higher main group with the other phone. IPhone would have been a backup.

All backups gone by 8:02:39. Backups start at 63.

Practicing from home I was able to get through several different times. HOWEVER, the very first time as soon as I went to hit the RotR pic, my screen expanded and my thumb hit the park map. I froze/panicked and couldn't think fast enough to hit the home button on the bottom left, so I closed app and pulled it back up again. I was still able to clear through on regulars for about 2 more tries. I think it was my 3rd try after that the JBG screen said "eat. wait: backup, but when I selected all group members, there was NO backup group popup message. Every attempt AFTER this one included the backup group pop up message.

ETA:. Yesterday's practice had me having the app open and just watching the world clock. Today had me practicing my MDE open process length of about 6 seconds, and the closing MDE, watching world clock and then opening MDE at 7:59:55. So, that might explain that as soon as MDE actually opened, it showed the home screen but the park map wasn't completely loaded and then finally loaded just as my thumb was on its way to the ATAT.

The force was with us - BG 33! By my hubby who never practiced and just downloaded the app yesterday!

That is why I have one phone on the app and one phone on a world clock...
unfortunately once I get in the park I only have one phone to try cause the iOS on mine is too old for MDE

I was trying to help a friend from home and kept getting a “something’s wrong” with a refresh button on my iPhone. I hope that doesn’t happen when I’m solo in the park in April!

Hey, i'm new here. Today I did my first practice run since I'm going for the first time in my life to WDW in april and anxiety is getting the best of me.
I managed to do the whole process a few times before backup groups were up. I did it on data with my wifi turned off. So I'm crossing my fingers we can get something reasonable while we're there.

Thank goodness it was only practice. I've moved my mde app so it's next to the clock app. I can see the time and seconds tick down waiting to open the app.

Me too - I didn’t try the past two days (at WDW), so I wasn’t sure if it was new or not.

Updating my app helped a lot, moved much faster! I forgot to try this morning, didn't grab my phone until 7:00, then clicked the wrong app, had to close it, couldn't find the APP as I had downloaded a new app and not filed it in it's spot yet. Opened the app, clicked status and was still in boarding groups. Let's hope I'm more efficient in the parks!

I am soooo glad I am not going through this today. Husband and daughter riding with a fp today after being evacuated about 8:30 last night from it. Now fingers crossed it doesn't break down this morning since thats the only chance they have left this trip!
