Need input from experienced "practicers" of attempting to join a boarding group. I did it for the first time today, and when I selected my party and hit continue, I got a red box warning at the bottom of my phone screen saying something along the lines of "we are no longer admitting riders who do not have a boarding pass for this attraction" or something like that. I backed out and tried again, and got a pop up notification that I would be attempting to get a back up boarding pass...

So, did I do it "right?". I was doing the constant refresh method, and was surprised to get the red warning, as I haven't read about that happening during practices or real life shared experiences. This morning was only my first time, and I plan on playing around with it some more. I can just imagine myself on the morning we fly out (the day before our first HS day) holding practice sessions with the Y chromosomes in our party teaching them what they'll need to do the next morning.

Does anyone else have boarding pass anxiety? Maybe it'll make it into DSM-6

Wonder if they knew something was up and why BGs (including backup) went so fast, gave out less than normal as knew no shot to get to 115 BGs or whatever

Part of me wants to say that makes sense. And part of me wants to say that is giving Disney WAY too much credit to be that coordinated internally.

Here's the deal. Typically, every Wednesday and Friday the First Order hires out bounty hunters from Oga's and Dok Ondar's Den of Iniquities (see what I did there?) to root out Resistance activities and communications. But apparently this week, they cut costs and went straight to using Stormtroopers. They were shooting for Wednesday. They missed.

Ah yes, the brutal day where the initial elation of achieving the coveted low number boarding group turns into despair as you watch your hopes and dreams collapse with each passing minute and the choice to leave the park and go on with your day becomes the modern "paper or plastic" dilemma of today's WDW. Do I stay? or do I go?

No, never got an answer.....perhaps has something to do with anticipated delayed openings? Looks like they're still not calling for boarding groups.

I just don't think any of us know because it is (obviously) a rare warning. I had a pop up that was odd one day, too, but apparently no one else was seeing the same thing. I also posted mine here. It wasn't really a warning though, just an added window I had to get through.

Praying it’s tomorrow because we will be there! And we are the crazy people who bought a 1-day ticket, just for this ride. (In our defense, this was originally going to be a resort-only stay. So, the whole trip is NOT centered around the park day.)

We are at 116. Looks like on average they get to 120 around 6:20pm. If they open the ride in the next 10 minutes then that puts us right around park close at 8pm... we are thinking about coming tomorrow again but we have an ADR for dinner at Boma and have the afternoon planned at AK...not sure what to do.

Go to GET and say something like "We have dining reservations tonight and I saw that I have a pretty late boarding group. Do you think I will be able to make my reservations?"

I think someone said they asked the CM at the entrance of the attraction a question like this, and they were let right into the queue then and there! Obviously don't expect anything but worth a try

Hoping this Friday curse thing isn’t real bc I picked a Friday to so HS. Only gonna be in the parks 2 days and didn’t want to do HS on Saturday with the locals heading over. Fingers crossed

Practice today went better than yesterday. I had the app open at 7:55 on front page. At 8:00:02 I pressed "find out More". I went to the next page... "Join boarding group" was not lit up. But I pressed "My Status"... It went to the next page and it said the dreaded "You can't join any boarding groups at the moment".. (by then it had to be 4 seconds past 8 am) So I backed out of the page, back to the home page and tried again. This time, going through the steps, I was able to select my group for a BG. However, it was at least 15 seconds after 8 when I finally got to the page to select BG's. Had I been in the park, I would have gotten a BG today but it would have been in the higher numbers.

These glitches and inconsistencies cause me concern and anxiety. I guess it is just the nature of this whole process of getting BGs and computers and what not. The best I can do is be prepared for glitches.. hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

I feel your pain. We are visiting on Friday, the 28th. I bought tickets before I was aware of the boarding group fiasco and now I kinda wish I could get a refund. Our trip is primarily to go to Universal and I thought we could spend Friday experiencing the new ride and with any time left over hitting ToT, etc. We can't stay past 2 or 3pm that day so even if we get a lower boarding group any kind of problem with the ride is going to mean a waste of a day/money.

Weird that there are 9 "empty" BG's today, as we've been assuming those are related to how many recovery fastpasses were given out the day before. But yesterday was a good day!?

I was trying from home today and it appeared that backups were gone by 8:02/8:03. Not good!
