Tomorrow is our day to try this! We have an 8am H&V and I’m assuming we can go through the ADR line to get into (and all of us scanned into) the park. Park opening is 8 and I’ve scheduled an Uber at 7:05 (and it gives a ten minute window).

Staying at the Poly. There are five of us and we will be pushing our twins in single strollers — hoping those help us make our way to the ADR line.

Fingers crossed!

How does our “plan” sound? Uber early enough? Anyone know where in the all the security and entrance lines the ADR line is? And is there an ADR line for security and
the line where you can magic bands?
Add me to the list of people who feels this is too tight. Even just getting to your 8:00 reservation I would leave between 75 and 90 mins. I’m guessing an 8:00 opening is greatly going to increase the number of people in the park at park opening which adds to bag check likes and tap in lines. If it were me I’d be considering a 6:45 pickup at the very latest.

Well, if there’s no ADR line, we will be screwed. And a little annoying. We typically show up at the entrance 15 minutes before our reservation. Totally get this is different but they can’t expect people to show up an hour before a breakfast reservation when they’ve never had to in the past. We have these 8am H &V every trip.
I moved the Uber up a bit and will just be super pushy that we have an ADR and have people glare at me. If we get in, great. If not, maybe we will try Thursday.
One of my kids is definitely worn down. She had a sinus infection before we left and doesn’t seem to have kicked it like her sister has. She’s a trooper and having a great time but I don’t want to get them up too too early tomorrow morning.

If you aren’t worried about ROTR stick with your plans, if you’re a little late to your ADR I don’t think it will be that big of a deal, especially if due to craziness at the gates.

Just saw that 117 has been called! I am really hoping that your kids have hung in there today and that you get to ride!
117 seems to be the final group - they called it maybe 15 mins ago, so at least you get to ride!
Sorry, finally getting to respond. Had breakfast at Topolino’s this morning, went to Epcot for a bit, came back and actually took the kids to the pool (they were begging us), then back to Epcot for a brief stint. Actually didn’t cover a lot of ground today activity-wise.

So, our boarding group (117) was indeed the last one called yesterday, but the ride went down again immediately after our number was called (5:24 pm was when it was called, 1-hour return), and the ride never came back up. We had to stick nearby because they told us to check back by 7, so we were kind of stuck not going far after riding MFSR, then waited a while for guest recovery and got a recovery FP for tomorrow (Tuesday) - let us pick which day and that’s our next DHS day. People in front of us got park tickets too because it sounded like they were only there on a 1-day or trip was over. Not sure what their BG number was either and whether they’d gotten caught in the couple closures earlier too.

now we’re actually debating whether to deal with the headache of trying to get their early again, and my wife’s worried there’ll be a lot more people too with the 8:00 am opening and the unknown of it being the first day at 8. Since we have the FP, we might just get there at a more leisurely pace and deal with only getting to ride it once for the trip.
We’re going to be there Saturday too, but have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, so no chance of getting there early enough.

I think you may have a different vision of what the park entrance is like vs what really happens.

Once the tapstyles open (which we don’t know what time that will be tomorrow, I’m assuming 30-45 mins pre park opening), the flow of people waiting moves very efficiently.

Assuming they do continue to open the tapstyles 30-45 mins early and operate with the same level of staffing, if you show up at 7:45am, you’ll likely not encounter any material delays getting in the park. It just doesn’t leave a ton of room for error.

Granted, they could do things differently and/or an 8am opening creates different crowd patterns and everything I said above is N/A, which I think is the main reason most are being more cautious in their advice.

Got in line this morning for the all star music bus at 555 am thinking the bus would be there at 6, it didn’t come until 625, tapped in very stressfully at 650, in the tower of terror rope drop area got boarding group 4 on T-Mobile for 3 people. Going back and forth between home page and “find out more” page, join button wasn’t turning green a few seconds after 7 so I finally hit my status and it let us in right away no issues 🙌🏻 Boarding group was called at 7:10 when we were still in ToT, it’s interesting because my iOS notification said to return by 8:09, but inside the app it said return by 9:09, we didn’t want to risk it going after 8:09 not sure which time they were actually going by. Got in line around 740, made it to one of the last rooms in the queue when we stopped moving, no information given but they brought out snacks and water between 820-840, around 9 one CM we asked told us we could get a fast pass; and then a few minutes later we asked another CM because I was ready to give up, and she said we could only get a fast pass if we had a dining reservation to get to, so that inconsistency was confusing 🤷🏻‍♀️ We found our nice CM at 920 and got our fast pass and rode SDD on our FP & got back in the ROTR FP line when we saw the ride was back up at 945 🙏🏻 overall just not the best communication with the two different times to return by and different fast pass policies for when the ride breaks down

We are trying tomorrow. Staying at Pop, we do have a car. Is it better to drive or take the bus? If drive, will I need to upgrade to closer parking? Plan to leave hotel at 6:30 am.
Also, was going to have family member at home trying as well is this not recommended anymore? It's myself and my 2 teens.

You'll have more control if you drive. I don't think you need to upgrade parking. The regular parking area is fairly close to the entrance compared to MK.

Sure, someone at home can try as well. As long as they're either using your MDE account or using their own and selecting only those people who tapped in to DHS, they can do it. Assuming your teens have their own phones, they can try too--and of course everyone who's trying should choose everyone who's going to ride, not just themselves. When the first person gets a BG for everyone, everyone else will get a notice that they are already in a BG.

The day of our trip in May has early EMH at DHS. Will sign up for boarding groups start when EMH starts? Will boarding groups load during EMH?

With the exception of one AM EMH day right after RotR opened (which was a mess), all of the DHS EMHs since then have been moved to PM EMHs (and are currently scheduled as such through the end of March). It is currently TBD if Disney continues to move AM EMHs to PM EMHs for April+ - and if they don't, what the exact procedures will look like. So, a bit of a wait and see approach is needed to answer your question at the moment.

We don’t know how this will look in May, but so far, they’ve been moving the morning EMH to evening, and Rise has not been part of EMH. But a LOT can happen in a few months

As of now RotR has not been available to ride during EMH. But with anything Disney just keep watching.

Similar thing happened to us on last trip. No need to go early IMHO. The recovery FP lets you skip the line. We went late morning and got right on. Wouldn’t wait too late in case ride goes down for good in afternoon. Good luck!
