READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

Just an FYI for anyone going in February - while they had changed the park hours for DHS to opening an hour earlier last week they only just today added FP for Slinky Dog, etc. to that extra hour - I was able to get a SDD FP for 8:50am

This way now I can rope drop MFSR rather than that ride - so thought this might be relevant to other people here planning their Rope Drop strategy for DHS
Thanks for this post. As of yesterday, it was still 9am opening starting Feb 10. After reading this, I checked again since it's now 8am, I was able to turn my TSMM FP into a SDD FP.

Left All Start Music this morning at 6. Through the turnstiles by 630 and waited by TOT. Verizon data only and got group 4. (Opened the app about 5 seconds before 7 am). Was off the ride by 8.
Looking back, personally the ride itself wasn’t worth all the weeks of stress and reading about the BG procedures. Great theming and set pieces but the physical ride itself was nothing special in our opinions.

Question? Can you get a BG if you have all 3 of your FP reserved or do you need 1 open FP?

They are completely separate. You may have 3 FP's plus a boarding group. Your fastpasses can even be in a different park for that day (assuming you have park hopper tickets or an AP).

Should both me and my wife simultaneously attempt to join a BG using separate phones (adding each other to our group)? Seems if one of us gets through, it will simply say we are already booked? I just don't want it to negate both of us trying.

No, that's fine, and you should both try as this increases your odds. And, yes, when one of you gets through, the other will get a message saying they've already joined a BG.

@MickeyWaffles (and now I want a Mickey waffle!)--I don't think you should be concerned. If it's obvious that your RotR BG and the SDD FP+ are going to coincide, go to a GET CM. They've been incredibly accommodating and I feel that your FP+ will be able to be moved.
This is another one of those newbie questions :) ...here goes: I have seen people posting that they have gone to GET CM for help with BG scheduling conflicts & adding guests, etc. Are there better CM's to visit? ie: the CM near ROTR, at your conflicting FP or ADR, or near the front of the park? Can you go to anyone? Or is there a better strategy here? Please forgive my newbie-ness. And thanks to all for this awesome info!

The best ones to go to are the GET ones - which are those in blue shirts and by the blue umbrella's. They are there to help with things like this

Off topic, but they had a coffee stand open in the outside morning line of MFSR. I just stepped to the side, scanned my magic band, got my cup o joe, and rejoined my hubby. Took 30 seconds.

That is excellent news to know as sources for caffeine is a key part of my morning planning - and wondering best way to do this as want to get as close to the front of the MFSR rope drop crowd and concerned about taking time to stop at Starbucks or other location

All the GET CM have the same info and the same abilities
You can find them:
By the director statute at the end of Hollywood Blvd
At the entrance to tsland
At the end of Sunset Blvd
On grand Ave

Another newbie ( only to the ROTR) question - and I apologize - I always access MDE thru web - my phone is so antiquated that it can't handle the app - assuming BGs still being used for our trip in July, DD will have the App on her IPhone - being that I am not familiar with the exact "layout" of the app, - I have seen where the BG option will show up on the app - so my question - once she opens the app, will DHS appear (once we are at the park) - or do you have to select it - ?
Hope my question makes sense , and TIA for any help !

When you open the app, there's a special box that talks about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - Access by Boarding Group (nice, big picture of AT-AT's accompanying said box). Click on "Find Out More" inside that box and it'll take you straight to the page where you can join a boarding group. It's extremely simple if you have the app.

I see a lot of talk about people deleting folks from MDE. My grown kids are still linked to my account. They've never had their own accounts. They usually only go to Disney with me but I don't know if that will change. What does removing them do? What if I want to add them back in later? It's really not a big deal for me to find who I need, I've practiced at home.
So we are heading there next week and I have 3 extra people in my family and friends. The problem is I can't remove them because we are all going to Food and Wine festival in October and I already have our hotel reservations that they are tied to. So the app won't let me delete them. I have read about people creating another account with another email but do you have to link everyones tickets and your reservation to this new account? I am assuming so but wanted to check.
You don't need to delete people who aren't with you to get a Boarding Group. People with more than 1 screen's worth of friends and family may find it worth it to unlink/delete a few to minimize scrolling during the BG process, or to allow you to hit "select all". But I'm not planning to bother when I do it.

@5kidsmommy You can add people back, but they will need their own accounts for you to unlink them without calling Disney.

We had a watch available to monitor the timing of every step... for science :)
Takes me roughly 5 seconds to open the app and get to the main screen.. I like the idea of timing it at about 2-3 seconds from 7am. I have had similar luck with the app already open and pressing “find out more” at 7:00:02, so probably no difference with those two techniques. Of course this is just practicing from home, the real test comes next week!
Oh Ok, I thought maybe there was a way to show it on your phone. I trust the phone clock, and if I had a watch I had to set it wouldn't be exact like a phone or computer. I guess I can see how you could pretty easily tell how many seconds it took to log in, refresh, etc, but I don't get how to know how many seconds ahead of 7:00 it is, any watch I set won't be accurate down to the second and I don't know that my apple watch does that. But it doesn't matter anyway, there's no way I'm going to be able to get quite that specific when the time actually comes. I'm going to hope my method of clicking find out more exactly as the iphone turns to 7:00 will work in the real world as well as it does at home.
