re:ROFR -New info

As someone who just put a contract down on 200 BWV points through a resale and am waiting for Disney's ROFR, I would really love to know which property, use year and amount per point you bid.

We are on pins and needles now that this was posted. We were told that the cutoff that it seemed BWV was getting through the ROFR was $77. I hope that is still true! It seems like the 400 point one referred to by the original post seems like a very high amount for Disney to buy....I hope this is not a sign of more to come....

Crossing his fingers.....Tim

Hi:

Disney ROFR'd 4 OKW contracts the Timeshare store had for sale. My bid was for
400 points with an Aug use year with 178 banked points. My bid was $70.

Hi:

I offered $72 on a 350 point OKW contract with 283 banked points tonite and the seller accepted. Now to clear ROFR. :rolleyes1

I wouldn't start planning vacations at that price.... OKW goes cheaper, but not that cheap. I bet Disney snaps it up.

That is the equivalent of bidding $500 for a week long trip to Hawaii at a silent auction. It has no chance of going through. Sometimes I think people just bid for the sake of bidding. That offer isn't going to pass. I certainly will root for you but if the present ROFR prices hold, this won't make it. Good luck on that one. :rotfl2:

Keep us posted. It seems like that is still too low a bid, but who knows, perhaps it'll sneak through during the holidays.

Hi:

I bought a 270 point contract last year with banked points for $65. THe $72 does not seem out of line to me since there are two contracts listed with the Timeshare store at $72 per point.

List for sale? Or listed as sold? Folks can offer whatever they wish, but what matters is what Disney is willing to allow through without exercising ROFR.

HI:

Now there are three OKW contracts for sale with the TImeshare store for $72, and one contract has banked points.

I'm waiting through ROFR for a 200 point OKW contract, Feb UY, no points until 2/06 with a contract price of $72.00. Two weeks into ROFR, but I feel it has a good chance of passing, especially with the current promotion going at SSR. As another post pointed out, there are a few contracts with an asking price of $72.00. We should have an answer by next week according to TTS.

Not sure this tells you anything except that they want a quick sale....It does not tell you what Disney will do.

I could be wrong, but I believe under Florida law a realtor has to offer a listing for whatever the owner stipulates. OKW at $72 should bring a quick sale, but the sale will be to Disney.

We bought OKW almost a year ago, and were advised at the time that $72 would not pass ROFR, but $73 probably would. We got through at $73, but a bunch of folks have been ROFR'd since at $72...and that was BEFORE the recent DVC price increase. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, there have been recent OKW ROFRs at $75.

To avoid disappointment, you really have to do your homework, and be prepared to offer more than the asking price if you think the asking price will not pass ROFR. If you don't pass, nothing else about that contract matters...'cause it ain't YOUR contract any more.

It's a shame to see people get their hopes up and lose a contract for a few hundred bucks! If you take the long view of contract ownership, a few hundred bucks doesn't matter much.
