We are heading down on the 9th for a quick getaway. i'm hoping since the marathon takes place on the 7th the crowds will have thinned out. Am i wrong and horribly hopeful? This all just dawned on me this morning.

The marathon is the 7th and 8th, so you should be fine.

We were there last year for the Marathon and toured the park the week after. It was perfect most days! Very short lines and beautiful weather. The weekend after was crowded, but it was also the MLK Holiday weekend.

We will be there on Jan 6- 18th. I was hoping the crowds would be down after the new year. I had no idea about the Marathon when I booked. I wonder which parks would be best to visit during those days? We are planning on the Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

Last year Animal Kingdom on the day of the Marathon had early entry as well. Traffic getting to and from Animal Kingdom was a nightmare. We went there to see DH at mile 17 and then went to EPCOT for the finish. It took over an hour and a half to get from AK to EPCOT. Very frustrating!

EPCOT will be crowded because the race starts and ends there. A lot of runners and families stay at EPCOT for the day.

I would think MGM would be the best choice on Sunday. And maybe AK on Saturday since that is only the Half Marathon day and I don't think the Half Marathon course includes AK. Can't remember right now for sure.

We have to go to Epcot during that weekend!! Test Tract will be closed for the rest of our stay!!

I want to go to Seaworld and Busch Gardens, maybe we should be that first during marathon weekend, then start the WDW parks on Monday!! We'll be there 12 days, so we have the time to see it all, I hope!!!
