I just got back from WDW a few days ago, and I don't have enough Trading Power Units (TPUs) to book SSR myself but wanted to make other RCI members aware of what I see right now. I saw this when I was checking TPUs needed for a possible WDW trip in 2019.

Five 1 bedroom units are available for 48-52 TPUs for the following weeks:
May 28-June 4
June 2-June 9
July 22-July 29
July 23-July 30
July 28-Aug 4

Hope this info helps someone have an awesome vacation!!!

Could be if I knew what someone would rent that much for. I know it is against RCI, but people do it all the time.

I searched RCI because I'm interested in how many TPUs an early June DVC week goes for. Last week we stayed off site at Vacation Village at Parkway through an RCI trade. With my maintenance fee ($25 per TPU) and RCI trading cost, it worked out to $430 for the week. DH and I talked about DVC while we were there and decided we'd like to try for a DVC trade for our next trip (maybe 2019).

52 TPUs would costs me $1300 in maintenance fees, plus a $109 combining fee (because I'd have to use 2 years worth of my timeshare TPUs), plus the $230 RCI trade fee, plus the $199 Disney fee. $1838 total....pretty steep for a timeshare trade.

But it still much cheaper than renting points. Renting points through one of the popular DVC rental sites is $3405 for a 1 bedroom standard view for July 22-July 29.

Wow, that is a lot of points. I am perfectly fine staying offsite and renting timeshares directly from owners.

I hear you! I know you have a Wyndham Platinum owner connection you use for WBC. My parents are Wyndham Platinum owners as well. They have graciously gifted me weeks at WBC in the past. This past vacation, we were on our own, thus VV@P.

I just get lucky finding them here and there. Some I have rented from do not pass the savings on. The one I am using now passes all of the savings and upgrades. He simply charges $7/1000 points for the reservation. That gives him ~$2/1000 points for profit. His MFs are something like $5.02.

I tried to use the RCI trade but because we own at WBC, Disney won't allow us the trade :( It's costing us $230 for the week at Orange Lake since the points were free and about to expire on a purchased deal. Afterwards we are headed back to WBC, which we are excited for.

no Orlando resort can trade with another Orlando resort - think it is at least 50 miles across. It is not WDW but RCI that has that rule. so my other timeshares is on the beach in PCB.

WBC is part of Club Wyndham. Club Wyndham Points is excluded from the Orlando rules of trading into the Disney Vacation Club resorts when trading through their RCI portal for External Exchanges. You would have to pay the exchange fee $230 and the additional $190. (That is on top of the maintenance fees). The accomodations usually available are at Saratoga Springs. With the recent remodel of Wyndham Bonnet Creek, the rooms are a lot nicer than Saratoga Springs.
