RCI European choices- no Italy????

I am not sure that I am posting in the right section but I really need to vent!

I can not believe there are no options in Italy and only 1 in France Now do not get me wrong we really did not by DVC for the trade options overall but in 2010 we were thinking of possibly going to Europe and skipping Disney (after 6 trips in 2 1/2 years ). So we were hoping to use some DVC points. We want to visit Rome, Tuscany and Paris. With II they had a Tuscan option which was nice. Now there are no options at all Now I know RCI has tons on European locations because i was on their site but we only get 73 of them and half of those are in the UK and Ireland (nothing wrong with those destinations but personally I like variety). phewy!I mean would anything be accomplished by writing aletter? If so to who?

I think we have been handed the short end of the stick with this new deal. The same thing applies to St. John, Aruba & Hawaii with the loss of the Marriotts & Westins. They just eliminated a lot of places from the possible destinations.

Just to make you feel better.... getting that II trade was not easy. I was waitlisted for it for a May date for over a year and did not clear!

I know what you mean! I have a regular RCI account with another timeshare and was flipping through the hard copy directory last night and comparing it to the DVC RCI choices. I only looked at Europe, but I think they really shortchanged us.

And the difference is? There were DRAMATICALLY fewer II exchanges too for us to trade to. One of the reason IMHO DVC makes a poor trader!

Well, they'd better get the nice footage of venice out of all those DVC commercials I'm seeing on tv lately- they do KNOW Venice is in Italy, don't they?

Perhaps the Venice reference is for the Adventures by Disney exchange option

How do we see which RCI resorts we can trade into as DVC members? I went to RCI's website, but it's all very confusing. So we don't get to trade to all of them? I won't be trading out anytime soon, but I really someday want to get to Austria. And not a ski resort, but a cultural center like Vienna or Salzburg. Both were options with II, but I only see one listed in Vienna on RCI's website, but I don't know if it's one we can trade into.

I reallly hope they'll have info for us soon about this new partnership with RCI.
