RCI and DVC

IS DVC expensive as far as RCI points go?

DVC is pretty expensive, sure. a july 4th week at SSR goes for over 100,000 pts.

but as dean said, the DVC in hawaii (aulani) will likely be IMPOSSIBLE to book for the next couple of years as DVC will not deposit a single week. won't matter how many pts you have if nothing at all is available.

I am thinking about purchasing a resale wyndham Las Vegas contract. Can you tell me about how many points I would need to deposit to exchange for a 1 or 2 bedroom DVC unit. I am not at all sure how this works (trading power...). Thanks!

Don't forget that, while DVC trades with RCI now, that may not always be the case. I don't know when the contract with RCI ends - probably 2-3 years. DVC started with RCI, switched to II and is now back with RCI.

IS DVC expensive as far as RCI points go? The person we're getting the points from told us we could probably stay someplace for 2 weeks with 65,000 points. I don't know anything about it right now, I'm pretty confused.
As noted, DVC is pretty high up the RCI points cost but not dramatically so if you compare to similar rated resorts in Orlando, LV or otherwise. I'd say the average 2 BR is in the 45-50K range but if you look at the higher rated resorts during red time, it's much more even excluding DVC.
