Does anyone know if RCI is trading with DVC? I had not heard any differently, but I've been looking for the last couple weeks at least everyother day, I haven't seen any DVC's listed not even for hilton head.

They do. Last night there were a boatload of options for WDW for summer including BLT. I didn't look at VB or HH.

Weeks or Points?

In Weeks, there were about 45ish WDW DVC units just this morning (they were deposited late last night, apparently). There were also at least a few units sighted in Points, but I don't normally search Points.

I suspect you have a trade power issue. You will need at least one unit in the low 40s to see anything at all right now in Orlando. Another possibility: if you are using an Orlando based Week (or have an Orlando based ownership in points) you are blocked from WDW-area DVC units.

It is possible to see what's present even if it's beyond your trade power but I think you have to change the setting each sign in to do so.

There are 41 available right now, June - August 2012. If you have an RCI Weeks account, the least amount of "Exchange Trading Power" is 13 at VB for a studio. The least at WDW is 48 for 1BR; no studios are available.

To see all that are available for a Weeks account, get into the Search For a Vacation screen and look in the middle of the screen. You should see the line: You are currently searching >Exchange Only > Bookable Only... and a Click-to-Change link. When you click on that Click-to-Change link, it will open a window - change the "Select Your Inventory" setting to be Show all available RCI vacations then click the Update Search button at the bottom of the window.

This should show you all inventory, regardless of what you have deposited.

Yes, that's correct. Thanks, Dean, I meant to mention this but forgot. downontheBW gives the details for doing so. Leleluvs: remember that, in Weeks, you can combine two (or more) deposit lines to use their total trade power for an exchange. However, DO NOT use an Orlando-area week if you want DVC; doing so would taint the entire combination.

We are on weeks. I have the trading power just not deposited yet. We actually aren't going until dec13, I was just trying to get an idea of when those weeks start showing up, so I will know when to look for next year. Have you ever seen a 3bedroom available?

I did. Thanks!

This did the trick! Thank you so much!!!

Somehow I missed this little trick. Thanks for sharing!

I have seen 3 BR but only a couple. For all intents and purposes, DVC doesn't deposit them unless they get stuck for some reason. As for inventory showing up, it seems to be all over the place. Generally you see a chunk of deposits around 10 and 7 months out but then periodically they'll put in a chunk of units like the one this week that's just after the 7 month window and not uncommonly at 3-4 months out as well. OKW and SSR are by far the most common but I've seen everything but 3 BR routinely. The more in demand resorts are less common and tend to have less larger units (2 BR) show up online. Weeks tends to have more inventory than points but it's variable. You should put in an ongoing request for what you want. If I were in your shoes, I'd want a deposit of at least 50 TPU or just over for that situation and around 60 if you're looking at Xmas to NY's.

I see a lot of availability over the past week at all wdw resorts! Just booked 2 bedroom at BWV today trading in.

We are planning for the first or second week in december
Over the years I have seen a modest amount of inventory that time and have exchanged in myself during that time. Definitely put in an ongoing search if you can. If not, start looking every morning about 5-6 am starting about 10 months and 1 week out until you find something. I would not wait for a preferred resort but take the first DVC that comes along and fits your needs for that time.

Hi did you book this on the points or weeks side? Also what date were you able to book? I have not been lucky to see any 2 bedrooms lately at BWV. My friends are wanting a unit at BWV to go with us during our summer trip.

I booked it on points actually it is my parents RCI account (they own Wyndham) but I usually do the booking for them online. It was for July 6 - 13. I had actually booked SSR the day before because we were checking daily for about a week. When I saw BWV come up for the same dates I called and they switched the resort for me. I saw 1 other date later in July for BWV 2 bedroom. I also saw 2 bedroom BCV for the end of July but it was gone about an hour later. The day we checked, and originally booked SSR, there were about 50 rooms over the summer available that dropped dramatically in 2 days. There were about 5 dates for 2 bedrooms the rest 1 bdrm or studios. After booking they threw more inventory in. Keep checking and good luck!

Does anybody know approx how many points it takes to get a DVC rental for a week? We're DVC members, but we were offered the chance to use a friend's RCI membership this year. They have 65,000 points. We're trying to plan a trip to Hawaii, but if we could get a 1 bedroom at Aulani that would be so awesome...anyway, I'm betting it will be nearly impossible for us to find anything, but we figured we'd try. any insight? We're looking to go in October.

Thanks for your quick reply. I assume you booked through the Wyndham RCI portal? The unit I booked at BWV was confirmed with my wyndham points that I deposited to RCI. This will be our first stay at BWV and we are looking forward to walking around at night on the boardwalk. My husband loves the proximity to Epcot..his favorite park.:)

The more in demand resorts 42500 to 71000 for a 1 BR & 71K to 118.5K for a 2 BR. SSR & OKW 41-68K 1BR & 68K 2 BR for WDW. HI is 60-80K 1BR and 100.5-134K for a 2 BR. DVC has a history of not depositing units until around 2 years after the resort is completed. You might be waiting a while if you want to exchange to HI plus even when units begin to be deposited, don't hold your breath.

IS DVC expensive as far as RCI points go? The person we're getting the points from told us we could probably stay someplace for 2 weeks with 65,000 points. I don't know anything about it right now, I'm pretty confused.

I am thinking about purchasing a resale wyndham Las Vegas contract. Can you tell me about how many points I would need to deposit to exchange for a 1 or 2 bedroom DVC unit. I am not at all sure how this works (trading power...). Thanks!
