Which do you think is better, OKW or Saratoga?

Sorry if I left any out!

Rate your favorite DVC resort and if you want, let me know why you chose the resort you did!

Resort selection is largely a matter of personal preference. We have enjoyed our stays at all of the resorts. Here is how we rank the DVC resorts

1. AKV / OKW

AKV: savanna/animals, theme (African thatched-roof, hewn-timber lodge in a savanna setting inspired by the historic expeditions of 19th century), concierge (sunrise and sunset safaris), possibly the best executed immersive theme on property and Jiko

OKW: style (condo), theme (Caribbean influenced, Key West style Victorian), value (points, dues, villa sizes), laid back atmosphere and Olivia's (particularly when eating outside), boat rentals for canals and DD lake

2. BLT / BCV / VWL

BLT: location (monorail and views of MK), restaurants at Contemporary with Poly, GF on monorail and WL nearby, on the lake (views and boat rentals) and boat transportation

BCV: location (adjacent to Epcot, near Studios and Boardwalk), SAB, theme (early 20th century Mid-Atlantic "stick-style" seaside resort), 11 month booking for December to enjoy CP/Illuminations and a short walk home afterward, great selection of restaurants from Studios to Epcot and the resorts in between

VWL: theme (early 1900s railroad workers' lodge, pre-dating the adjacent grand National Park Service lodge), very relaxing, another great December (holiday decorations) or January (cool weather) resort, restaurants at WL with Poly, GF and Contemporary nearby, on the lake (views and boat rentals) and boat transportation

3. VB: Atlantic beach resort with an OKW feel to it, very relaxing, and not too far from Disney

4. BWV / SSR

BWV: location along the "Boardwalk" and reduced point rooms, same great restaurant opportunities as BCV

SSR: location (near DD and OKW), great resort to walk around, restaurants (DD and proximity to Olivia's), theme (Turn-of-the-century (circa 1900) Upstate New York grand resort destination, subtle equine), THV option

5. HH / VGC

HH: very nice resort and staff with fine restaurants within walking distance or a short drive, split resort (separate beach house) not as desirable as a single beach front property but is well executed, just too far (six hour drive) for an Orlando resident to go for golf, tennis and beaches

VGC: theme (turn of the 20th century arts and crafts), location adjacent to DD and CA at DL resort

1) BCV......SAB, Walk to EPCOT, Beach and lake, Walk or boat to MGM (Hate taking a bus to every park), Beaches and Cream, New close food court and soda fountain, Walk to shops and nightlife at BW.

OKW for the large rooms and get away from it all feel. We don't mind a few minute bus rides to places to get the vacation home feel.

I'm wondering why you just didn't put OKW and SSR in your poll if that's what you wanted to know about? Putting all of them in there won't give you an accurate assessment.

As it is, I think your results will be directly related to the number of resort owners that reply. If you get more OKW owners, then that number will be higher. And more SSR owners, then that number will be higher. And you notice the other resort owners are voting for their resort. On average anyway - I'm sure some are not voting for their own resort.

And I voted for BWV, simply because it's the best.

On that note......OKW gets my vote ! Large rooms, large balcony, beautiful grounds....water views.........disney neighborhood feel..........
If I had a second choice, think it would be VWL.............

I didn't vote b/c I haven't stayed at any of them yet, but that's sure a strong showing for BCV given the fact that it's one of the smaller (smallest?) DVC resorts so it would have fewer owners around to vote. I'm glad to see it get so many votes, though, since we'll be staying there in Nov/Dec.

BWV is my favorite and BCV is second. I love the theme, the pool, the location and the views. DS also loves Community Hall.

BWV first and foremost then SSR would be our families favourites.
VWL and OKW would be our least favourite we have not tried BCV and I don't see us trying it either.

VWL owner voting for BWV. Love the atmosphere, location (Jelly Rolls!), pool for the kids. We do love OKW, however, for the room sizes. Also love VB when we are looking to escape the hustle & bustle to just relax. Frankly, I haven't met a DVC resort I didn't like! (Have stayed at them all except for SSR...Leaving tomorrow for our inaugral stay! )
