I hope to get reservations for Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet for a June trip. However, I think that I need a backup plan if there are no openings on the date I desire. Would you choose Cape May or O'Hana's based on the taste of the food?

Based on food I would have to say Cape May because DH is a sucker for the yogurt bar and I love having asparagus for breakfast and the bread pudding is out of this world

Ohana is very good too and I like that you can get the pressed pot of coffee from Kona, the pineapple bread is amazing too!

I have never been to Cape May, but Ohana's has a very good character breakfast. As said above, the pineapple bread is delicious!!

We love Cape May!!! We went and DD17 loved it so much we had to get reservations for the next morning!!! It is awesome!!!

Gosh, we loved both of these breakfasts. But we did Cape Mays twice on our last trip and Ohana's only once so maybe we preferred Cape Mays. But they are both great.

Thanks for the responses. I must say that in the past I never gave much consideration to Cape May. However, lately I have been hearing good comments about it. My first choice will probably still be Chef Mickey's, but I will certainly consider Cape May and Ohana's for breakfast. I definitely want to try Ohana's for lunch or dinner.

Hmm, based purely on the food I would have to say Cape May. You have more choice and the omelette station is great.:thumbsup2

But 'Ohana is my favourite character meal of them all. The character interaction was great, it was really fun for the kids and the food and service was good. The pineapple bread is to die for!:cloud9:

We haven't done Ohanas since the old days when it was Minnie's Menehue (we prefer buffets over family style--especially after our experience at WCC with the skillet). We tried Cape May Cafe this year. Although Crystal Palace remains our favorite, we enjoyed Cape May--especially DH--he was in heaven.

We LOVED Cape May when we were there last month. Great food, great selection. The character interaction was great too. Goofy, Minnie and Donald in beach gear. We had a lot of fun! :cool1:

we LOVE cape may. the characters are great and the food is great too...we have never done Ohana maily because i dont eat eggs and their breakfast is family style...i love my mickey waffles and Cape May has them! my aunt also works at Cape May so i LOVE being able to see her when i am on vacation!

both cape may and ohanas are great! But by far, cape may has the best food of all three (chef, ohana and c.m) I would actually prefer cape may to chef mickeys! We've been to chef mickeys twice and didn't care for it either time!

We have not been to Ohana, but we were blown away by Cape May breakfast this past January. Perhaps I had low expectations, but Cape May exceeded my expectations in every way - variety of food, quality of food, character interaction and service. The characters just DOTED on my daughter because she had a cast on her leg. They wrote messages to her on the paper tablecloth asking her about her injury. They were utterly charming. And yes - we had the berries -- YUM!

We far and away enjoyed Cape May more than our Crystal Palace breakfast (which people routinely RAVE over). This was probably due in large part to the fact that while Cape May does a brisk service, CP is PACKED at all times and we felt like we had to fight to get to the food.

Just to temper my glowing review of Cape May, it was not a pre-planned ADR and we just walked up on a whim. Sometimes I think I judge my pre-planned ADRs more harshly than the ones we just luck up on!

I have been to both...I would have to go with Cape Mayfor breakfast. It has a huge food selection, much better than Ohana. A huge variety of delicious foods! Character intereraction is always attentive and they stay at the table for a nice amount of time. Ohana doesn't have a very good variety of foods for the character meal at breakfast time.

For dinner I would go the other way. Ohana is much better than Cape May for dinner! JMHO....;)

My personal opinion, but we love Cape May's Character Breakfast. It's usually fairly quiet, the character interaction is very good, and their buffet is excellent. :)
