Rate my lunch

I have a lot of homework to do before class tonight so I don't think lunch is on the agenda. However, I'll submit my breakfast because the day just isn't complete unless someone flambes my meal choices :rotfl:

This includes: 1 carton of Breyers Light (low sugar, high protein) blueberry yogurt, 1 slice of cranberry granola breakfast bread. I'm debating between a smear of cream cheese or butter still. 1 banana and a cup of hot cranberry tea.QUOTE]

Looks good :thumbsup2 . I'm not a fan of Breyers light yogurt - Colombo is my prefered choice and I'd take the bread plain - not a fan of butter or cream cheese but it's not about ME ;) :teeth: . It's very healthy and should keep you going for a good long time. I'll give it an 8.

Ok, forget the fact that I'm trying to document a project for work I've got lunch to prepare and photograph :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: . I really gave this some thought:

Photo20.jpg

We have toasted Mexican blend cheese on a whole grain wrap cut in strips to easily dip into Muir Glen organic salsa and sour cream. Grapes, Whole Foods organic lemonde and Edy's light double churn chocolate fudge ice cream round out the meal. I remembered the ice, straw and salt/pepper shaker :teeth: . Now I have to go check out the competition ;) :lmao: .

Your portions of food are great. I also LOVE the fact that you have incorporated whole wheat (see my tag) into your lunch. The presentation on the plate is also very neat.

Here is the breakdown:
Variety: 10 (I am counting your salsa as a veggie)
Presentation: 8 (maybe think of a theme next time)
Necessary components: 9 (salt, pepper, bendy straw) I can not give you a 10 because of the lack of theming
Dessert: 7 (I prefer a vanilla bean ice cream or a palette cleansing sorbet)

Overall Score: 8

Nicely done, but there is some obvious room for improvement.

Love it, it's everything that I eat. I give it a 10. :cheer2: I don't care about what the food rating police have to say about doling out such a high score. :smooth:

here is an all Amercian Midwestern meal for a working guy, vegtable beef soup, crakekers, and you cant see it well bt a bologna and chesse sandwich on a bun. Also a jar of peperchinnis, and some popcorn with some extra butter to put on it for the road when i ge back to work (only 30 min) and water and 7 up. Also have a milk bone in case my dog starts lookin at me :)

I thought the milk bone was dessert :confused3 :rotfl2: . You have a lot going on there and it's lacking a real theme along with a bendy straw :rotfl: . I'll give you a 7 just for being brave enough to post :teeth: .

CEDmom - I am going to give your meal an 8. I love EVERYTHING about it, including the lovely presentation. Only thing I am dinging you for is the sour cream, I can eat it but it's not my fave. I do give you props for your organic drink and the organic salsa. Gotta love the earth. Plus, you have delicious ice cream pictured... Excellent work!

EXCUSE ME??? I hear sirens in the background as we speak. Do not think for one minute that you are above the law. It is slackers like you who are contributing to the decline of Rate My Lunch.

I hereby sentence you to 10 hours of community service. You will wash and dry all of Luvflorida's dishes and take notes of her fastidious lunch models.

I know a theme would have been nice. I looked for some chili peppers or a red placemat but no luck. I'll work on that :teeth: .

I give you a high 10! :thumbsup2 And to think that you did this when you have other things on your plate, excuse the pun, embarrasses me. I thought about taking a picture of my lunch, but it was kind of thrown together since I'm getting ready to go donate blood and have to get back before Jake gets home from school. Nice job! :cool1:

You're good. Looks very yummy. :thumbsup2 I think the plate and placemat sort of clash, but I'm not taking points off for that. I'm also a little irked at how your straw is hovering over the salt/pepper shaker, but I'm still not taking points off. I will however deduct .25 because I feel the glass should be on the right and the bowl of cookies on the left. So you get a 9.75. :cheer2:

Oh please, anything that can distract me from the task at hand is good enough for me :rotfl2: . Good for you for donating blood. I've done it a few times but they got tired of having to get out the smelling salts and calling EMS so I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon :rolleyes1 :rotfl: .

Big lunch.

Swedish- you are forgiven for your slight. :thumbsup2

Sorry about the ketchup, tried to make a hidden Mickey and it didn't work. :guilty:

The donut was placed on a plate that had a skating penguin, don't ask me, my mother bought them. I grabbed the plate as I left the kitchen, I figured I would get dissed for not having it on a plate. :teeth:

And as for the location, I did say that I eat sitting on the couch so I figured the cabinet was a better place to go with. I was going to use the top of the freezer but there was a lot of stuff on there.

Does anyone else "gulp" when they see that sugarpie has posted on this thread? I need to add her to my list of posters who I'm scared of. :scared1:

Does this mean you're scared of *anyone* that posts on this thread? :rotfl:

OMG! I thought I single-handedly brought Disboards to a halt by trying to post my pictures! I kept getting some technical error and I couldn't post for several hours. Was it just me?

Well, here it comes, and I certainly hope it was worth it! :teeth:

I'd have to say that today's lunch qualifies as a production/presentation. I've tried to successfully combine the food presentation with other aspects, (mood, season, setting), to further enhance today's lunch. Here we go:

IMG_0244.jpg

A chilly, but beautiful, October afternoon in Maine.

sytycd058.jpg

A buttercream scented tart burning in a festive, holiday Yankee Candle tart burner.

sytycd055.jpg

I Love Lucy's infamous Vitameatavegamin episode on the tv in the kitchen, where lunch will be served. Cleverly simple, yet maintaining an air of grace.

sytycd065.jpg

Here I have a cup of hot Minestrone soup, accompanied by flaky crescent rolls just out of the oven. The small, green bowl holds applesauce, and to the left is an appetizing display of cheese and peanut butter on crackers, (pleasing to look at in their alternating pattern). I know I've had cheese/peanut butter crackers in my photos before, but they're healthy and tasty. What can I say.

oh, but feast your eyes on dessert! This afternoon, there is not one, but two desserts! :cheer2: Warm gingerbread with whipped cream and strawberry Jello with whipped cream. Notice I said "and" not "or" because of course I plan on eating both. :teeth:

sytycd066.jpg

And no meal is complete without my trusty sidekick, Henry. Here he patiently waits for his dessert.

So, who wants to go next, or did I just set the bar unreasonably high? :rotfl2:

Come on, I expect some competition here. I also expect a decent score. :lmao:

You get bonus points for two desserts, with whipped cream! +1. You also get bonus points for the extra pictures - just lovely +1.

-.5 for no bendy straw, -.5 for only two of the three napkins matching.

Is that plastic silverware? -1 point

Your score today is a 10.
