Rate my lunch

Okay, folks! Today I went with my all time favorite theme- summertime!! :sunny: Lunch is on the porch, and Jimmy Buffett music is playing in the background. I've gone with a picnic theme consisting of a hot dog with relish, potato chips, buttered noodles, and of course, dessert. I'll admit the apple is only to represent nutrition and I have no intentions of actually eating it.

Can we all agree that I've come a remarkably long way in both my picture posting prowess and food presentation? And, can we all agree that I have way too much free time on my hands? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Disclaimer: I did not really eat on the porch. It is October. This is Maine. It is cold. :rotfl2:
As usually I'm jumping in late on this thread. I've read through all of it - yes I'm sick :rotfl2: .

Anyway, I do see a big improvement both in content and presentation :rotfl: but I think baked beans or cole slaw would have been a more appropriate side than the noodles :teeth: .

Luv: while your presentation is technically flawless today, I can only give you a 7 today. 1 point deducted for the redundance of carbs and 2 points because the cupcakes are store bought :sad2: OTOH, you got a 7 rather than a 6 because I counted the relish as a vegetable.

LB: nice presentation but tea is not dessert. Have I taught you people nothing? I want to see more sweet, fresh and warm from the oven gooey goodness. Release your inner Betty Crocker!

I'm butting in here... this thread is cracking me up :rotfl2: . It's great to see a FUN thread for once. Wish I had lunch to post... my popcorn and diet coke wasn't very photo worthy!

8.75

You lost a point for romaine lettuce...next time, go with iceberg.

Lost 1/2 point for salad dressing (should be lite Italian) and another 1/2 point for no Diet Sprite (again!...when will you learn?!)

But you gained 1/4 point each for the cute S&P shaker and the bow.

An extra 1/4 point for the bendy straw!!! :)

11!!!!

Perfect meal, delightful presentation!!! Can I come for this lunch next time?

Oh, and you got an extra point (making eleven) for having the same placemats as I. :teeth:

Today for lunch I had a piece of peach pie. For dessert I had a Reese's peanut butter pumpkin. Nobody needs to rate that.

Oh, I do multiple quotes all the time, which is why I gave her an extra point! :rotfl:

Jump right in! Not only have I read all the posts, but I'm WAY too chicken to post a picture of my meals. However, if this thread is still here next month when my sister is visiting for awhile, no doubt we'll be taking pictures of food and posting. :cool1: :thumbsup2 :lmao: There's strength in numbers! :teeth:

It is a fun thread, isn't it. I think it's about the third thread in all my years of DISing that I showed my husband.

tsk tsk iceberg lettuce? :sad2:

Nice looking lunches ladies! :thumbsup2 Sorry for me to rate it I would need to do taste tests.

T&B- I think you dissed Luvflorida for her hot dog bun, she did use a bun, just not the regular kind we have around here. Next time you are at the grocery store check out Pepperidge Farms hot dog buns, they are very similar to the one she used.

I had pizza for lunch today and I have to tell you guys a funny story. The company I work for is getting a new computer system that is being "built" in India. Today we did a conferance call with the production team and they had it set up so that we were watching on a projector as they went through all of the screens. Well at lunchtime, while we were ordering from Pizza Hut, they were looking on line for a pizza place near them. :rotfl:

I love the New England buns. They're especially good stuffed with lobster salad (aka a lobster roll).

I'm not even sure what I had for lunch I just kind of grazed through the afternoon. PB&J right from the jars is especially lovely :teeth: :rotfl2: . I also vaguely remember a handful of Pirate's Booty.

I've never heard of them--must check out the buns at Safeway. In that case she earns her point (or half point, whatever I took away) back. :teeth:

CEDmom, I'm afraid to ask, but what's a handful of a Pirate's Booty? :scared1: Is it DIS friendly? :teeth:

It's similar to something between JAX and Smartfood. V. Dis friendly.

Ok, here's today's lunch.

DSC02407.jpg

I went for simplicity. Chicken salad (I bought a whole rotisserie chicken at WalMart, deboned it, cut it up, and made the dressing myself. DISCLAIMER: I used store bought mayonaise in the dressing), and a romaine salad on the side with creamy vinagrette. Today's soda is Diet 7up, and I'll brew the English Afternoon tea as soon as I'm done eating. The kitty is salt, and the easy chair is pepper.

Ok, I'm ready - rate my lunch.

Where do I start?

Pink napkin & placesmat with a blue plate. Deduct half a point. Not eough veggies & too much dressing on the salad. Deduct half a point. The chicken salad should be on some bread & should be made with Miracle Whip. Deduct half a point.

The diet soda is good & the tea is good. But where is the dessert??? You're not taking this seriously, LiteBrite. Very disappointing. :sad2:

You get a 6.5. Two points deducted for no dessert.

That's not helping me. :teeth: Talk to me like I'm a 6yo. But not my 6yo--he's way smarter than I am. :rotfl:

What!?! You didn't like my hot dog bun!?! Our buns are different here in Maine. They aren't the traditional buns that most people associate with hot dogs. Oh geez, do I have to get my camera out and take another picture? Cause you know I will. :lmao: I can take a picture of the whole pack of hot dog buns!

I'm the one that didn't realize that you have funny buns, but I reinstated the point that I'd dinged. :)

BTW, I was going to give you extra points if you had of photoshopped.... I would've been so very impressed. :rotfl:
