Rapunzel June 24 Move

Belle used to meet in her blue after storytime, but she still met in Toontown in the princess room in her yellow gown. I guess I was sort of expecting that to happen again when the new section opens. But that's pure conjecture on my part.

That makes sense. So maybe she be at both. :)

I really think Belle will be in both spots. I don't think they will require you to sit through her storytime just to get a photo with Belle.

Aurora will be at the Fairytale Courtyard during day time hours. In the evening, she'll move over to TST, bumping out Rapunzel.

As for the Fairytale Hall:

Cindy, Aurora, Rapunzel, Snow, and Tiana are expected to be in the new hall.

And, regrettably, Princess roulette will ensue as all will not always be available.

Belle, Ariel, and Jasmine may pop up, but are expected to be primarily in their main locations.

Regarding Fairytale Hall - do you know how many princesses you'll be able to meet at one time? And do you (or anyone) know roughly when it's supposed to open?

That would be great. We would only want to meet Belle, Cinderella and Aurora so we would only line up when we knew Rapunzel wasn't there. She's so popular it's really going to clog up the line, especially for those who don't want to line up for Rapunzel at all

Well, that's very disappointing. If you have someone who really wants to meet Cinderella, for example, that becomes a HUGE ordeal trying to accomplish, unless you a $200 dinner booked at the castle.

I really dislike the system at DL for that reason, and it sounds like I'll intensely dislike the new system here as well.

It really seems like they don't understand the desire for a guest to want to meet a specific character, as if they should be happy to wait an hour or longer for just whomever happens to be there. I really don't get that.

Sounds like the same way they did the fairies back in Toon Town, which was infuriating.

Totally agree. It would be really annoying to me as an adult, and as a parent...it seems like a total nightmare. :scared1:

We waited in line for 45 minutes at rope drop to meet Merida one week ago. I am glad Rapunzel is moving as I had to stand in the blazing hot sun for 90 minutes (partly due to the parade) a few days ago. I wish they would not take Aurora out though.

agreed - I loved having all of the fairies available to meet but we used to stand in line in TT at least 5 times a trip trying to meet everyone. The sad thing was we'd stand in line and basically 'waste' a space for someone else.

Thankfully a lot of the princesses are available to meet/ greet in Epcot as well. I'd love to see Tiana added to the America section and Rapunzel to Germany so we wouldn't "have" to meet them in MK

I'm headed to MK next week. Those are the 2 characters we want to meet most. I really, really am not looking forward to waiting over 2 hours for 2 characters. When you were there, were these lines consistently that long?

Rapunzel's will be. Merida's may not quite be on that level yet, but I expect will be before very much longer. Your best strategy is to go at rope drop and head directly to one of them. If you're going to MK a second day, do the other one the same way. If you don't hit either at rope drop, then be prepared to wait.

ETA: If you want to see Rapunzel after the 24th, then FP that line. And you'll see up to two additional princesses "for free". (Forgot the thread title, oops.)

Ugh! I hate not knowing for sure. I'm an OCD planner when it comes to DWD and I wish I could know for sure if this move is going to happen. I only have 1 RD, so Rapunzel getting FP would make my day!

Berlioz appears to confirm it earlier in the thread. That's good enough for me.

OK then. I'll plan under the assumption that the rumor is true. Back to touringplans.com to make my morning plans! Thank you!

If they do go to "Princess Roulette" when the new location opens next year, I sure hope they don't do a complete copy of the DL system. That doesn't open until 1 hour after park opening (remember the mess trying to see the fairies at TT?) You practically had to use your entire first hour of park time lining up just to get in. I suppose if they kept fastpass for them in the new location that would help though.

Honestly, there just wasn't a single thing I liked about the DL princess meet & greet. And it's seeming more and more like those frustrations are headed toward WDW.

So does this mean Naveen is finally getting the permanent ax? As if the whole idea of Fairytale Hall wasn't bad enough.... :sad2:

I like the idea of Fairytale Hall, but only if they're going to keep the same ones in there all the time. I'm just meh about Snow White, but I'll meet her and talk to her about apples. That place should be big enough to accomodate all five princesses, no problem. Why would they do something like that? Also, if that's the case, then leave some of the princesses in TST and move the other permanently into FH. They could make everyone happy here just by putting them all out.

If they're putting Tiana, Snow White and Aurora in FH, then do you think we'll be seeing new characters in their old spots?

Also, generally in DHS's area where they have Sorcerer Mickey (the name of the building escapes me right now), they usually have a m&g in there with a character from a currently released Disney movie. Who's meeting in that spot right now? (ie, when Toy Story 3 came out, Lotso was in there; when the new Pooh movie came out last year, Pooh was in there).

ETA: I know that this is a Rapunzel thread, but does Merida meet during the parade?

1. The Animation Building.

2. Still Pooh.

3. Yes. Not a problem since she's yet to appear in the parade to my knowledge.
