Which deluxe resort has the best Christmas decorations? Are any just "blah?" Rank them for me, please! :goodvibes

I haven't been to all of the deluxes at Christmas but my favorite, hands down, is WL. It just fits the whole ambiance of the resort - the little white lights everywhere, the huge tree, the grapevine reindeer, and the fire in the fireplace....it is like something out of a postcard.

GF's is also very pretty but WL is awesome. :)

Top to bottom:

WL
GF
BC/YC - mostly BC
BW
YC
Poly
AKL
CR

haven't seen S/D decked in Christmas yet, so I can't comment on those.

Wow I can't believe you put AKL so far down. Mine would be:

GF
AKL
WL
BW
BC/YC
Poly
Cont (do they even put up a tree? I read somewhere they used to put one in the grand concourse but I haven't seen one in recent years and actually changed my reservation last year to WL because I wanted decoration and Contemporary didn't havethem)

for me it is this order:

BWI
GF
BC
YC
WL
CR
AKL
POLY

now I did visit each resort at that time and stayed during the hoilday decos at the BC,YC,BWI,WL,POLY. and the others I went to see.

We toured all the deluxes last Thanksgiving and I was surprise that we liked Boardwalks the Most. I have read in the past the GF decorations and WL were better with more trimmings. To us they seemed more like a "mall " Xmas Decoration EXCEPT for the Gingerbread House at the Grand and the Chocolate Carosel at BC. BWI Had a beautfil Tree and garlands PACKED with all kinds of ornaments not ones for ""Filling". I thought BWI had the most detail of theming but thats IMHO. Not the biggest tree on property but i thought the best.

Ranking without reading others:

Grand Floridian -- I love the life-size ginger bread house!
Wilderness Lodge -- The huge tree really fits well with the big lobby.
Boardwalk Villas -- I love the chocolate boardwalk display :).
Animal Kingdom Lodge -- Big tree, big lobby, nice African theme.
Beach Club -- Almost life-size chocolate merry-go-round that works.
Yacht Club -- Hmmm ... I was there but I don't remember a darn thing! Some chocolate thing-y like BW and BC I think, but not as impressive.
Polynesian -- Not fantastic, I don't remember much.
Contemporary -- I know they do something, but it wasn't impressive.

Grand Floridian
Boardwalk Inn (and this is my favorite resort!)
Polynesian (2004 Xmas was pretty cute, subtle but it did the job)
YC/BC
Contemporary

haven't seen the others :/

Are there decorations in the other GF buildings, or just the main one?

Although I love OKW, it is poor in the Christmas decorating department!

The decorations at the BWI are simply exquisite. The AKL is stunning, in an exotic way. The WL has a very traditional feel. I don't care for the "new" GF decor.

Of the ones I've seen or stayed at during the holiday season my order would be:
Grand Floridian: Awesome tree and gingerbread house. I loved hearing the carolers sing in the lobby. Booked for main bldg this December. :Pinkbounc
Wilderness Lodge: Gorgeous tree and lights. Fun to sit by the fireplace and drink hot chocolate. We were here the week of Christmas.
Beach Club: Chocolate carousel
Dolphin: Humongous tree
Board Walk Inn: Don't remember details, but it was nice
Yacht Club: Just OK. I was disappointed I stayed there in December instead of one of the above.
Contemporary: Vaguely remember some ornaments but it didn't feel "Christmasy"

Deck the halls and then some! :jumping2: We always spend alot of time on our own decorations inside and out of our home. Even if we are not here for Christmas we put up a tree. I even special order candies to do a gingerbread house. So for us and even our kids we spend plenty time touring resorts. Go on the monorail at nite and stop at all the different themed resorts. I personally love gingerbread style, so I love the playhouse size gingerbread house. Don't forget to buy some of the gingerbread for sale. If you love Dept 56 Christmas villages make sure you go and see Yacht Club entire winter wonderland Noth Pole village. I thought we had a alot! OMG!!! How do they do that!!! Have a hot cocoa at Yacht Club, it has brandy buttered rum mmmmm, then if you love antique ornaments go over to Boardwalk and gawk at the garlands and the gorgeous trees! I just wonder how I am going to get my husband to do all this decorating, and where we can store all this!!!! At Epcot they had a Tour called "Yuletide Fantasy Tour ", but I think he said that 04 was the final year.

We love Christmas!!!...and nobody decorates better than Disney. You can go at least someplace to find the style you like! :jumping1:

Hello, Everyone :-)

I've never been lucky enough to visit Disney World near Christmas time, but based on the beautiful pictures at Suite Disney's website, I would love to stay at the Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Old Key West, Polynesian, and Coronado Springs (in that order). Here's links to Suite Disney's pictures:

edited to say: If the hyperlinks do not work, please just type in the traditional "www" with a dot and then type "suite disney" with NO SPACE in between the two words and a dot and then of course type "com" followed by a forward slash and then the proper "id number" followed by a dot (for whichever resort you are interested in seeing) and then end it all with the three letters "htm"

Sorry it doesn't seem to want to work, but there are several pictures for each resort and the decorations are amazing!
