I know that I'm getting a little desperate for "stuff to plan" when I start to consider which type of 1 qt ziploc will have more storage capacity for the
3-3-1 rule.....

Ziploc makes a bag with a "flat" bottom and a slide zipper, (about 1" or so in width)...I'm thinking that it will be easier to fill that/close it than a standard 1 qt baggie with a traditional "ziploc" seal.....I'm so curious about it, I'm gonna go home and play with my travel sized stuff!!

You didn't mention when you are leaving ... i have had most of my baggie packed for close to 3 weeks now :rotfl2:

And to the OP, I'm sure it was just a typo, but it should be 3-1-1 not 3-3-1. Just wanting to make sure you just mistyped it :goodvibes I'd hate for you to show up with 3 1 quart bags :)

don't all 1 quart bags hold, well, 1 quart? :rotfl2:

Do you really want to spend time trying to convince a TSA agent your bag is a standard 1 qt zip lock baggie when it's obviously bigger then other 1 qt zip lock baggies?

Why go looking for trouble?

Think of the TSO as someone without the ability to reason. If your bag looks like it might hold more, even if it doesn't, the TSO won't care.

The answer to THAT question is a bit embarrassing....let's just say that we're a bit farther out than that!;)

Yep...typo, unless you consider our party size of 3, then yes, we will have 3 1 qt bags, but not on each of us.....;)

See, you get my point, or sort of...I know a pound is a pound the world around, but that's a measure of weight, not of volume.....this will be a scientifically conducted experiment to determine if baggie design has an effect on the "stuffability" of said 1 qt. baggie. It's an "impact of design" study.....

I'm just glad to see that some on the DIS still have a sense of humor.....a 1quart bag is a 1 quart bag, regardless of if the folks at Ziploc or Glad made it.....and there will be no arguing with TSA agents involved...

If it clearly states the size on the bag, I might use it.

But what are you taking with you???? If your whole family is traveling, remember you get one each (assuming your child is ticketed). You might be putting things in there that you don't need to put in there; check the 311 info pages on tsa.gov to make sure!

You could have a quart baggie that's a half inch by a half inch and 12 yards long, but I wouldn't recommend trying to explain that to the TSA.
