Was just doing my usual daydreaming about our vacation in September (14 nights at AKL yeah baby!) and I realised that fast pass plus will make for some awesome nights!

Just think, enter Epcot when you're planning to see Illuminations with a Soarin fast pass + plus! one that you didn't have to run across the park at rope drop to get. You can have a leisurely wander in to get your Soarin fix and the have a slow walk around World Showcase, soaking it all in, grabbing your snacks for Illuminations and settling in for the fireworks.

It just sounds like a perfect relaxed night to me and now I'm all excited lol

It does make for great nights, as long as you don't plan on using it during the day at a different park.

The weeks that we've attended previously have been really great for crowd levels so I think we should be ok saving one. I think for us it helps that, coming from the UK, we take longer trips to justify the long flights so we can be quite laid back so we don't need to go hell for leather at the parks, we can have different starting points on different days to fit it all in.

That being said, I've never done MK rope drop so there are going to need to be some early starts

Just to be clear... under the current policies, you cannot "save one" for another park in the evening. All three must be used in the same park.

That's ok, I didn't explain properly. I meant just use two in the park in the day and then save the third for the same park, to do a favourite ride before the night time show

We were part of the test this past September and really enjoyed it 3 was plenty for us and I loved that my daughter nor husband had to run across the park to get fast passes. We were able to sleep in if we wanted to and still ride what we wanted. Made our dinner plans etc. I have paid for park hoppers multiple times and have only used them maybe twice. So no need for the park hopper any more. So glad to see a positive thread about this. Too many people worrying about 1 extra pass or 2 etra passes. By the time we did the 3 rides on fast passes and waited for other rides or things to do and see we had full days and loved it.

The old fast passes did suit us really well as we are quite laid back, we never do a line over about 20mins and if we can't get on just make that ride a priority another day. I figure if we choose well we can really relax and fit in the rides we would usually have to queue for, do the others as and when and still be able to potter around doing the small stuff like meeting new people in the parade queues or making sure we really explore World Showcases nooks and crannies. My favourite ever Disney memory was sitting on the kerb on MainStreet, waiting for the night time parade, DH has popped off for snacks and I was just drinking it all in, perfect. Now with FP+ I'll be able to still do that plus a few fun rides too. It sounds awesome

DH & I live the new FP+. We were part of the testing at BC in October & it worked great for us. We have APs so on checkin day we did an afternoon at DHS & for the first time in 2 years we managed to go on TSMM. We don't do the coasters so we chose other rides for the remaining 2. We were there mainly for Food & Wine Festival so we didn't really schedule any for there & instead since we were going to MK thy night we used the 3 there.

This past week we went over for the day & I scheduled just the rides we wanted for late morning early afternoon. However when we got there at 10am the big rides were 20 minute waits so we did what we wanted of them.

After so many years of visiting MK we just go with the flow & try to relax & enjoy the magic!!

I highlighted your last line because it made me think about how life is so short and each person has the choice to be positive or negative. Or as the lyrics to that old blockbuster all time classic song went "don't worry, be happy"..Lol.

I see. I misunderstood. Your first post referenced just showing up in the evening and then someone posted... as long as you don't plan on using it during the day at a different park. So, your comment sounded like you planned to not use one in the first park, but save it for evening at the second park.

I just wanted to make sure that you weren't confused about that and then disappointed when you couldn't do it.

Yes, as long as it's in the same park, one of your FP+ could be scheduled for later in the evening.

Thank you! I'm a cancer survivor so my attitude over the last 2 years has changed immensely. My goal during chemo was to get APs & have a magical vacation at WDW. I think that goal & tons of friends & family support got me through that time. Life is just too short!!

I love the idea but I believe Soarin and Illum are both top tier Fp so you only get to choose one or other for FP.

My random thoughts:

I can send the family to ride Test Track at rope drop and I can head to Starbucks for coffee instead of going to Soarin and geta fast pass because I already have that scheduled.

I can sit and enjoy my coffee and the beautiful fountain and music while they ride TT again in the single rider line and then go to Mission Space. I hate both rides, so it is perfect for me.

On another day, our planned anniversary day.

We wake up and go on the Sunrise Safari.

I then have lunch schedule at Sanaa, can't wait to have the bread service.

Then, at 4 pm we head to Epcot and ride Soarin with our scheduled FP, then ride a few of our favorites like figment, living with the land, Nemo. Whatever is available.

We have our Anniversary Dinner and end the night with a ride on Spaceship Earth.

Perfect!

I am a little obsessed with Epcot.

I'm not sure I would fast pass illuminations. I think I will just try out staking out a spot early like we normally do. That way I can do some people watching lol

That sounds amazing!

I've actually thought about this. We like to visit Universal but they tend to close early. I could picture us spending the day at Universal and then going to a Disney park in the evening to ride our FP+ selections. We have been to both resorts in the same day and enjoyed it so why not?

We did FP for Illuminations in October. I was not that impressed with the viewing area. There were a bunch of shrubs in our field of vision. Maybe if they had trimmed them down a few inches.

I really does sound perfect for you. For me, not so much. I don't ever get to go for two weeks straight. I am thinking most people don't get quite that long. Have a great time! BTW... I am jealous! :rotfl:

The only downside to that would be using an extra day's admission at WDW for only those few hours in the evening. It's one thing if you were at another Disney park and then hop, because you aren't using another day's ticket entitlement. Of course, the counterpoint is that, assuming you are on an extended stay, it's only $10 more per person for that evening (i.e., adding a day to the MYW tickets for days 5-10), so in the grand scheme of things... not such a bad idea.

Personnally, I'd be worn out after a day at Universal and would just as soon go relax at the pool that evening. :)
