My daughter sent the image in this article to me:

I collect nutcrackers and the comparison is dead on from the hat, double breasted coat and stringy hair. I just can't get over the $3600 price tag. Something is wrong with this world when someone can part with that much money to look ridiculous.

My youngest daughter collects nutcrackers, saw the online comparisons and decided she wants that coat to wear as a Halloween costume because she will get her chance to rock her nutcracker love for Halloween. She wants to get a nutcracker solder hat to go with it instead of the one Kellyanne wore. I made her promise to do a better job matching the reds because the offshades would drive me bonkers.

To me, the Kellyanne coat suffered from just being too many things. If it had just been blue and white, it would have been fine. The red collar ...maybe okay. The hat - too much. The buttons - geez. I could maybe even see the coat, with the collar, without the buttons and a cute pair of red pumps. Maybe. Maybe. And only if she did something else with her hair.

She just always looks un-put-together, so taking that much of a risk is something she will never be able to pull off.

I could not figure out the hat for the life of me, but then I thought perhaps it was an accommodation to the weather. I agree it was just too many things -- and it made me crazy to have three different reds going as well.

Kelly Ann's coat and hat made me want to go order a corn dog and limeade at the mall. TMZ compared her to a toy soldier :)

I was watching while doing other stuff, &, when I first glanced at the TV, I thought she was an usher escorting people to their seats & thought to myself, "Wow, they really outfitted the ushers!" LOL! And just about that time one of the reporters said something like, "And here's Kellyanne..."

Alrighty then.

I am obviously missing something here. Maybe I should ask what specifically about Mrs trump reminded you of Jackie. The color, style of coat and hair were extremely different.

And, for what is worth, my initial comment was a reply to a poster who said the blue color was reminiscent of the color Jackie wore. That could not be farther from the truth.
It was not the actual lines of the coat that remind people of Jackie O. But, if you look at the styles of the late fifties and early sixties, you see big collars, you see gloves, you see a hemline about the knee, you see a wool blend or angora coat (if you put some money in to it). She actually reminded me of Audrey Hepburn as well. It may just be the way she walks due to being a model, but Audrey also had that kind of walk, and even though Jackie O had been more of a business style in her walk I think early on, I think she looked like that too later when you saw pictures of her lounging with Onassis on his boat and such. She didn't have the pillbox hat of course, lol Kelly had the hat :), but with her hair up it also looked like the hairstyles of that era.

When I look at Kellyanne's coat it reminds me of the beginning scene of Austin Powers. I think it is very retro mod and a little zany. If there were no buttons (and no gloves) it would have been a hit for me.

It would've been easier to match the hat and gloves with the coat and worn red pumps. Heck maybe even Navy Loubies. I would've gone that route. I like a splash of color for a more dramatic effect.

I think it was a disaster.

That's what I thought too, looked like an usher. Facebook had photo of her in the outfit and someone said she looked like a cm at WDW.

I'm not really into fashion at all but that dress was spectacular on Melania. Ralph Lauren should pat himself on the back for that one. I believe he designed Hillary's dress as well which wasn't bad.

Regarding Karen Pence's dress, I saw this video earlier & thought the story was sweet.

A lot, of course, has been said about Melania Trump's & Ivanka Trump's haute couture dresses - and I've admittedly been one of those going on about their outfits.

However, less has been said about Karen Pence's dress. And what has been said has not always been kind.

The day after the election, Mrs. Pence called the seamstress who designed her wedding dress 30 years ago & asked her & her fellow seamstresses at "Something Wonderful" to design a total of 8 dresses for her & her daughters for the different Inauguration ceremonies. These ladies from Indiana spent over 470 hours designing & carefully & painstakingly hand-sewing the dresses with custom bead work & other special touches... And, as they labored, they sewed their love into their creations. Then these small town Indiana ladies watched as their creations were displayed on a world-wide stage.

love this

I thought Mrs. Trump's powder blue inauguration dress was beautiful. I thought Mrs. Obama's outfit was also lovely. Hair for all the women was probably difficult as the day was "moist".

I thought Mrs. Trump's gown was pretty. She doesn't strike me as having a "flashy" style, but more classic or understated. Ivanka's dress was beautiful too. Very princessy and suited to a younger woman.
