Rainy day tips needed please

Hello! We are at WDW now on our very 1st trip, which has been amazing so far! Thurs is our last day and it is 100% chance of rain. We won't be making it to a park until 12:30-1pm because DD5 and I are doing Perfectly Princess Tea Party. We drove here so DH and DS4 will meet us afterwards. I had originally planned to do MK again (we went Sat afternoon after arrival and all day yesterday) but with the rain I am wondering if HS would be better? The kids melted down early on our HS day so there are several things we didn't do like Disney Jr Live and Beauty and the Beast. But there are characters we didn't meet at MK and rides we missed there, too, although we did make it through all of our must-dos. With the rain, will most of the outdoor characters be unavailable anyway? Also, they both really wanted to meet the Incredibles. Do they only meet at HS and if so, are they outside? What would do if you were in my shoes? Thanks!

MK is not that bad in the rain... lots of rides have shelter and there are shops along the way where you can pop in if you need too. My family has spent many a rainy day at MK and we were able to plug along and see everything.... and there is the bonus of shorter lines due to people that don't really stick around in the rain. Oh and remember .... just because it says high chance of rain doesn't always mean it will come true. I live in the panhandle of Florida and it will call for rain but we don't see a drop! Either way...enjoy your magical time in Disney World! I'll be there June 9th and can't wait!

Wouldn't worry. Only says up to 50% chance in the afternoon, which is quite normal for this time of year. I would expect rain, but wouldn't expect to last more than an hour and then get hot and muggy after it

Today is 50% but tomorrow is 100% per Weather Channel. 60% chance at 1, 90% at 2 and 100% from 3-5.

When it rains, Jake and Sophia still meet, but under an overhang by the animation building. You can ask any CM in the area and they could direct you to the exact spot. The Incredibles meet inside of the animation building when you first walk in, and they're only in HS. I'm not sure on this, but I think Beauty & the Beast runs even when it rains, since there's a roof over the seats and stage.

have to add this- For MK, most characters have indoor meet and greets, or are by an area with overhangs or coverings. Last trip, I met Peter Pan with no wait while it was downpouring.

I usually just put a raincoat on and enjoy the low crowds.

I'd invest in the Disney ponchos. Those Dollar Tree ponchos are fine for sprinkles or when you don't want to get wet on a water ride, but they're not going to offer much protection from a real rainstorm. The Disney ponchos are magical and keep you dry as a bone. We did HS in a monsoon last summer in our Disney ponchos and had an awesome time, after getting soaked when wearing the Dollar Tree ponchos.

I second the Disney ponchos! They work so much better, are good quality, and don't stick to you like saran wrap. I've decided it's the cheapest souvenir on site!!

Put the Disney ponchos in and go about your day. The rain will keep people away so lines will be shorter. On our last trip it rained on our EPCOT day and it was no problem it rained for a while from open till about 2:30, it was a great day. we will not let rain keep us away from the parks. Also if you have a stroller the adult Disney ponchos are big enough to protect your stroller from the rain wish I had some pictures to show you
