Rainforest Cafe Or T-rex Cafe

Hi Guys!
I was just wondering what you would choose between the two restaurants, T-rex and Rainforest Cafe.

We have experienced Rainforest before and loved it

Eaten at RFC outside AK and enjoyed it.
Easten twice at T-rex and not enjoyed either, I suppose great if you have a child into dino's but the food was not great. First time had to send back as it was cold, 2nd time very poor for what they charge.

Thanks. I think I'll go for Rainforest because of your bad review of T-rex and because I've been to Rainforest.

We've been to RC 4 times and its been great. DBF and I went to T-Rex in October and it was brilliant! Something different but very similar... food was really nice, atmosphere was loud but it was to be expected. Yes its pricey, but so is RC!
Its all a matter of personal preference! Xx

Rainforest has the edge for me, never been disappointed. My 5yo son loves TRex so we do end up in there each time too. Never had a volcano yet though.

I've been to both and both are fantastic everything is on such a bigger scale in the t-Rex restaurant the food is pretty much the same the meteorite showers are very fun and there are so many areas to sit in! The ice cave, underwater, next to t-Rex!

I'd say try this if you have never done it! It really is fab!!

I've been to both pretty recently and I love both of them! Since you haven't tried T-Rex yet, I'd say to go there. It's a lot like Rainforest, but at the same time it's a completely different experience.

Never been to RainForest Cafe at AK but the one at DTD was our least favourite meal of summer 12. Perhaps this was server related but on two previous trips we really enjoyed T-Rex.
On the recommendations of a DISer (thanks Debs) I had the flatbread starter as a main

We prefer T-Rex to Rainforest Cafe. Personally, I would never choose not to dine at a restaurant just because one or two people had a bad experience.

We have dined at RFC three times (once for breakfast, twice for dinner) and T-Rex three times, all for dinner. Of the two restuarants, the food and service at T-Rex was far superior. The only thing we didn't really enjoy there were the desserts so the second time we skipped dessert there and went to Ghirardelli for ice-cream sundaes instead The theming of Rainforest Cafe is probably slightly better (unless your kids absolutely love dinosaurs, in which case they will prefer that of T-Rex) and Rainforest Cafe is not as noisy. The noise at T-Rex is constant and incessant, making it very hard to have a conversation. But if a quiet dinner is what you want, you'd be in the worng place anyway

Totally agree, every restaurant should be tried at least once, its all down to the server, meal you choose and where you are sat. We had a bad experience, many others love it. There isn't a consistently bad restaurant in Disney or they would close it.

we tried t rex in september and although we enjoyed it i prefer RC. T rex was a lot busier it seemed as our table was in a walkway and a LOT noisier with the storms hitting. We ate late - it must have been 10pm so it could have just been that i had had enough by then

The food was 'ok' but again i have had much better at RC.

I think I would go back to t rex but i would request the ice room as it appeared much calmer in there.

I do like to try somewhere new though so I would always give it a go

I know they probably aren't comparable, but as we've done RFC in London before, we want to do something different at WDW, so thats why we are going to do T Rex instead.

We picked T-Rex over Rainforest last year. We didn't enjoy the atmosphere of T-Rex, the food was lovely but it was just too noisy for us. We may try Rainforest next time though, just to see what it's like. Its worth giving T-Rex a try if you've never been before.

I think rainforest is slightly overpriced, but quite enjoy the eating experience at both. If money isn't a factor I'd go rainforest.
