Rain the entire time at WDW?!?!?!?!

So I'm a little sad at the fact that I just spent thousands of dollars for my family of 4 and travel to Disney world this week only to find out that 3 out of the 4 days we are there will be 80%-90% rain.

any feed back on how we can manage to make this an incredible vacation even though it will be raining and thunderstorming on Thursday and Friday?

Florida weather rains almost every afternoon, I really wouldn't worry about it. You will have sun, or just clouds. Rain won't last all day. I always carry a small collapsible umbrella as well as ponchos just in case and I've always come out peachy.

I was crying about it yesterday when I saw the weather report.

I bought some rain Ponchos from the dollar store.

So it doesn't rain the whole entire day even though the accu weather says so?

Usually not, although we've had some pretty wet trips. Personally, we prefer umbrellas to ponchos. I also recommend packing extra shoes (and socks.) If it rains hard for a sustained period of time, there will be lots of big puddles. You'll want to have a pair of dry shoes.

Depending on what your family likes to do, you could still have all the fun u dream of. As long as you have raincoats, you should be dry. Most of the rides are inside (except for AK), so that is not an issue. The only thing challenging will be trying look at some of the Architecture (I personally admire that), but your characters interaction may be shorter than you want, unless you are doing a character meal.
If it is "any" consolation, you might have lighter crowds, since the locals may not want to be there if it is raining.
Crocs for shoes are always a good idea in wet conditions.

Make the most of it with your family if you let the predicted forecast upset your trip your going to have a bad trip.

It rains nearly all the time in Florida. Fact of life down here, and we need the rain for our swamps and water reservoirs. Summer is the rainy season, and we are getting close to it, with 3/4pm showers daily that last about 15/30 minutes. Just hop into that poncho and go with it. But we need that fabulous soaking rain to keep Florida beautiful for all you guys.

When are you leaving? When I checked the forecast before our trip last May, they were calling for rain every single day, but this was about 3 days to a week before our trip. However, when we got there, we didn't have a drop of rain at all, the entire week. And we never checked the weather forecast each day before we left the resort. We did keep a small umbrella and some ponchos in our backpacks, just in case. But we never had to use them. Fingers crossed that you get dry weather!

We wore baseball caps to help keep the rain off our face and brought a shamwow type of cloth to wipe things down where needed. Wear fast drying clothes and shoes like crocs to help.

80-90% chance of rain, I would expect at a minimum off and on showers all day. At the worst, a steady rain all day long. Heavy rain is always a possibility but doesn't tend to be non stop all day. At least temps will be on the warm side.

Ponchos or other rain gear helps. And my only tried and true advice is to go with the flow. We had a rainy/blustery MK day a year who in February. We just made the best of it. One member of our party-- well two including her dad--stayed back at the room because she is susceptible to respiratory issues. But other than that, we still had a fun day.

I would agree about the shoes. Shoes need a chance to dry out. Having a spare pair and alternating them will help reduce the risk of blisters and such.

We arrive on Wednesday the 25th and Leave on the 28th of March

Tarheel girl is right. Rain storms often are temporary. But not always. There can be days of persistent rain. You will see people post here that "rain in Florida comes and goes quickly". That can be true. But there certainly are days when it will rain (or threaten to rain) all day. For times like that, you have to be flexible. We like to go to Epcot's Future World when heavy rains are expected for large blocks of time. The indoor pavilions there offer lots of things to do while you wait for the clouds to pass, assuming that they will. I don't enjoy walking from ride to ride in the rain, getting soaked, and then going into Disney's sub-Arctic air-conditioned buildings. Nor do I enjoy parades in the rain. So for me, the MK is the worst choice. But Innoventions and the Living Seas are places where we could spend hours of time, and rainy days allow us to see things that we often blow past. And Ellen's Energy Adventure is 45 minutes all by itself. And Spaceship Earth is a lengthy ride as well. It is easy to spend 3 or 4 hours in Future World and hardly ever go outside. To me, that beats running between the rain drops going from ride to ride in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland. As for ponchos, I greatly prefer the "substantial" ones to the disposable ones. They pack up almost as small, and will dry out overnight in your room.

Also just to make you feel better it said rain all day when I went to my very merry Christmas parties and it rained 20 minutes tops between the two days

We have just pretended the rain wasn't happening and continued on our vacation. We threw on our ponchos and soldiered on. We had a blast!

Correction: this only means there's a 80-90% chance it will rain at some point during each day. It does NOT mean it will rain for 80-90% of the time you're at WDW.

Don't let the rain slow down your plans. Some attractions may temporarily close if the rain is hard or accompanied by lightning. But for the most part, everything stays open and you and your family will build great memories of "that time we went to Disney and it rained."

and on the bright side - rain tends to keep people from heading to the parks or can empty out a park if it goes on longer then brief showers so you might end up with much shorter wait times
