Rain the entire time at WDW?!?!?!?!

So I'm a little sad at the fact that I just spent thousands of dollars for my family of 4 and travel to Disney world this week only to find out that 3 out of the 4 days we are there will be 80%-90% rain.

any feed back on how we can manage to make this an incredible vacation even though it will be raining and thunderstorming on Thursday and Friday?
Just as a follow-up and illustration to others about why not to worry about those weather forecasts; its now Friday of the OP's visit and we've only had rain one afternoon for a short time.

Don't stress about WDW weather. :teacher:

Over spring break the weather called for 70% showers on two of our days and 20 to 40% on the other days. It did not rain a drop on us. Hopefully this will be the case.

Still partly cloudy and 80 at 1:30-but it is looming. Hourly is showing 0% until 4PM.

So 100% turned out to be dry until 4PM or more, at least 8 hours of dry park time.

I just checked the weather forecast and it looks pretty darned good actually. :) Better than my usual June or Sept forecasts :)

This time of year if it rains it will only be a couple hours a day, and usually makes a great time to go back to the hotel and take a break. Also the thunderstorms are more of a show than a disappointment. Sitting on your balcony in your hotel room and watching the lightning is actually more fun than you would think.

MrsCC23 I just read your post and now I am looking at the weather. Looks like you may have had amazing weather. My phone shows you at 66 today. Hope it was great. Let us know how you made it through and what it turned out to be.

I'm curious how Frida and Sat were. I was there Wed and it didn't rain at all. It was cloudy until 1:30 or so and then sunshine and hot. We left Thursday morning, so I am hoping you continued to have decent weather

Friday and Saturday were beautiful here.

I found it better to not look at or listen to weather reports. Lol I went in the beginning of March. At times it was saying up to 80% chance of rain and rain all week. Well...I went on the trip prepared but ended up getting no rain at all. It was a trip full of sunshine

Sounds like you had great weather for your trip! We were there in June and had quite a bit of rain. Asked my then four-year-old what his favorite part of the trip was, and he said:

"Jumping in puddles."

So there you go.

Last April, it rained for roughly 70-80% of our trip. And when I say rain, I don't mean it rained for 10 minutes mid day then stopped. It RAINED. We have pictures of us walking thru almost a foot of water in future world. It was the first time we got any real use out of the ponchos that I had dragged with us on the previous 2 trips. Yes is was disappointing. (Seriously, we're from Michigan so all we wanted was some dang warm weather and some sun!) Anyhow, we eventually just kinda got used to it and rolled with the punches. We just kept saying, "at least we're at Disney".

The only tips I can think of besides packing ponchos is pack everyone an extra shirt or light jacket (at least for the kids if they're young. Maybe even an entire change of clothes). My poor nephews were freezing at times because they could never get dry, so if we went into a store or restaurant the air conditioning was on full blast which made them miserable. And wear waterproof shoes, no socks. If you wear socks, bring extra. Also my baseball cap came in handy keeping the rain off my face and helped keep the poncho hood on better. We had a backpack and just crammed everything into it like a survival kit. Good luck and try not to let it get you down. :)
