Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

Thyroid cancer! Bless your heart. I hope that everything is okay now.

I don't go for my check up till August. There was still residual in February but we will find out. The advantage of Thyroid Cancer is that it is normally the kind of once it is gone it is gone. There is one particular kind that can spread to other parts of your body and that is the kind I have and it is hereditary so my girls will have to be checked too when they get around 50. It doesn't show by doing thyroid blood levels. There is a particular test the do to indicate if something further needs done. So you just play the wait and see game that all cancer survivors play. That is the hard part. You then realize how fortunate you are each day and be thankful for it.

Well, I will most definitely keep you in my prayers. I can't imagine how scary that must be to go to the doctor and wait for the results. I live in fear every day of something like that happening and even though I know there's nothing I can do if it does happen, I still worry. I don't want to be taken from my son too soon. But I know the MAN ABOVE knows what He's doing, too! :goodvibes

Bless you and your girls! will pray along w/you that everything will be clear in Aug. :grouphug:
We received the first of bad news Thursday; my dad tested positive for Prostrate cancer; he goes for a CT later this week to see if it has spread. Hopefully, not --I have read that most men will die With PC BUT not FROM PC.

Glad that this year was alot more fun than last year:tilt:. A margarita sure does sound good. :drinking1

I need to share my FB link w/you girls so you can see Ashton's latest pics.

I am sorry to hear about your father. I will pray that the cancer is contained and easily treated. Bless your heart. Cancer is such a horrible disease.

PM me your FB link if you want. Hopefully I can get on tonight or tommorow night and add you as a friend. They block that site at work so I can't get on. :sad2: Devils.

I will pm you my fb link. Would love to have you in there with me.

I am so sorry about your father. My father-in-law had it years ago. Now, God love him, he has bone ca. He gets along so well. Was 85 in May. Many prayers for him and your father. Our dads are the best things in the world. I lost mine many years ago and I miss him terribly to this day. I want him to know my grandkids and sons-in-law and to see what beautiful women my girls have become. I am positive he knows all of these things and knows my fears. He was such a kind and gentle man and I would love for the boys to know that. We talk of him often in front of the kids so they would know what he was like. He was my salvation growing up as I have spoken before about my mother. He left me in good hands with my wonderful husband.

Thank you for the prayers. I am a firm believer. I have learned long ago not to let things that I have no controll over to mess with my attitude. Life is what you make of it and dealing with what is given instead of blame is much easier than living angry.

Well said! You are quite an inspiration, Ginny.

Happy Birthday Ashton

Thanks! could not sleep last night so I am having a hard time getting it going. Planned to spend the day doing something with him and half the day is gone.

Gwendolyn gave him a bowling set and he is having a BLAST! he could care less if we do anything out of the house.

How fun. My girls had one of those when they were that age. Don and I bowled all the time and they wanted to also. We had a really long hall in that house. They had oodles of fun. I bet Ashton is too. Good present Gwendolyn. Hope your day goes well. It is raining here. What a surprise.

Hey, Connie! Happy birthday to Ashton! I bet that bowling set is a lot of fun. I have memories of doing that when I was a kid, too. So fun!

Hey, Ginny! Looks like we've got rain in our forecast for tomorrow too. It's only 81 degrees here now, which is so strange for JULY!

Oh, we changed our TN vacation date to the first week in September. :woohoo: That's only like a month away! I'm so excited. Can't wait to get you on FB tonite.

September is a great time to be in TN. The weather will be nothing but perfect for you. We have a Dixie Stampede in our area too. We took the kids when they were younger and they really enjoyed it. It's something about eating with your hands when you have always been told to use a fork:laughing:

So you think we should do Dixie Stampede? I had just about written it off the list...

It was a lot of fun and seems like Andrew was about Mitchell's age and they all loved it. You have to like horses, eating with your hands and not be a clean freak. Sheri couldn't do it now. She is a little OCD.

Well, now I KNOW its out! Mitchell doesn't like to get his hands dirty! Perhaps I was a bit too tidy with him when he was a baby :rolleyes1 (you know, first child and all!)

I was that way too with Sandi. She did not like any kind of dirt. Sheri was the one who didn't care and now they are just the opposite. Too funny. It is amazing how we treat our first child compared to those after. Mother's learn a lot in that time difference. We are so protective of our first and the second one is just kinda out there to live and learn on their own.

I hope I get the chance to have another. DH can't/won't make up his mind. But he tells me that he knows I could handle when I say "let's just forget about it" or won't let me get rid of the MANY clothes Mitchell's outgrown "just in case". Yet when I want to talk about it, he changes the subject.

I don't get it.

A lot of men are that way. They are afraid of how they would handle a situation if there were problems. And they like things status quo. You know yourself if you wait too long and Mitchell is in school full time you won't want to start over. You really should work on pinning him down at your anniversary getaway instead of the family getaway.

Sounds like you've got him pegged! I don't want to wait too long. I'm 30 now and I don't want to feel like I'm starting all over again by waiting too long. The anniversary get-away sounds like a good time, too since it will be just me and him. Thanks, Ginny! You're the best.
