Are rain ponchos sold in the resort gift shops or only in the parks?

They can be found at the resorts. If they aren't displayed, ask the CM as they are always kept on hand. Umbrellas can also be found at the resorts.

they are sold in nearly every gift shop.
at the parks, at the resorts, at disney springs...
just ask for them at the register because thats where they keep them.

i have a differing opinion.
i say disney ponchos all the way.
they last years.
plus if you rip it you can get a new one for free.
they are longer and much better quality than a dollar sotre poncho that is basically just a clear plastic cheap garbage bag.

We actually have nylon ponchos that work so much better than even the Disney ones, and will last forever. Love them.

Throwing away all that plastic makes me rather ill, so I'm happy to use the non-disposable type.

my current one has lasted 7 trips and is still just fine.
plus as i said if it rips you get a new one free.

My husband and I bought two ponchos in Animal Kingdom in 2000 (yep 2000). We wore them last Friday during the afternoon thunderstorm in Animal Kingdom.

I usually just bring generic ponchos from Walmart. I didn't realize that Disney replaces their ponchos if they rip. Does anyone know if they just have adult size or do they have a kid size as well?

they have child and adult sizes.
right now child size is $8.45+tax and adult is $9.39+tax
well worth the money though.

I agree. I bought dollar store ponchos one year and it ripped just putting it on. I had to buy the disney one, and I am glad I did.. this will be the 3rd year bringing it. It is just made better and thicker. I never knew that if you rip the disney ones, they'll replace them!

Agree. We actually just got new clear ones this year because we were still using our yellow ones from our 2002 trip!! The cheap ones at the dollar store stick to you. The Disney ones will last long enough to make it worth the $$.

Is Disney making them of cheaper quality now? We bought two last October on our trip and DH's ripped at the neck by the 3rd day. We had it replaced in the animal kingdom. They are white-ish clear color not yellow. We plan on taking them on our trip this year. And like was said, replacing if they rip again.

We bought the Disney yellow ponchos way back when and were still using them on trips. But we had a house fire a month ago and I just realized we might not have those anymore or they are in a box somewhere in storage right now. Drat it, I'm going to have to ask the adjuster about those!
