Rain is in the forecast for all of next weekend! :sad1: Not just in the afternoon, during the morning and day as well. So sad. I know how it rains pretty much every afternoon, but I think this will be more than just the afternoons.

Ignore it, this forecast is worthless. By the way, the "rain every afternoon" thing is a summer pattern.

Ignore any forecast over 18-24 hours away.

And, don't take any forecast seriously for those last 10 hours.

It can be pouring buckets in Epcot and, at the same time, MK can have sunny skies.

Ignore the forecast is correct. For my career I wired houses for a living. If I was as accurate at wiring houses as Florida weather forecasters were in their predictions then all my houses would have burned down by now. Weather comes at Florida over water from three directions. It can be raining cats and dogs at my house and be clear as a bell at WDW which is 25 miles due west of me. Best thing to do is totally ignore the forecast and spend your time planning an awesome vacation. If is does rain while you are there the rain usually is not too severe and usually doesn't last too long. It is not hard to find something to do indoors at WDW for an hour or two.

I think there will be rain Wednesday night into Thursday morning due to a low setting up over FL. Not sure how long it will last.

As an electrician I found three way and four way switches to be very funny. Why is it called a three way switch? There are only two switches involved and there are four different positions those switches can be in (up/up, down/up, down/down and down/up). Same deal with four way. Who named these things?

I agree, and have always thought that myself.
What I figure is, they counted the wire connections.

(Before the days of the added ground wire.)

OF course you do!! :bored: You have received good advice. Just ignore the forecast and try to get past the nightmares. This is a vacation.
Enjoy

Oh my gosh, ya'll are too funny. My husband is an electrician, well he's actual an electrical engineer now, so these post made me laugh.

After living in FL for 23 years I always said when it rained "As long as you can see a patch of blue in the sky somewhere it will blow over and you will be fine." 9x out of 10 worked like a charm :-)

We will be fine. As long as we are at Disney it will be great. I'll go look for some good rain ponchos and small umbrellas to take with us next week.

Ponchos, yes.

Umbrella's, not so much.

We just got back and when I checked the forecast for the week before we started packing it was calling for around 55-65 our first couple days, then warming into 70's...well, as I'm sure you've seen on here, it didn't warm, it practically froze over! We were at DHS Tuesday late afternoon during Lights, Motor, Action and the skies opened up, it poured the rest of the night and dropped to around 50. Worked for us as MK that night was walk on for just about everything. Less than 20 min wait at 7DMT and A&E!! Score for us, as we are from New England so 50's and rain worked for us! (We did make a quick trip back to our resort to grab our ponchos as I packed them so refused to spend $9 a piece on them) Then came Wed and Thurs where the highs were only 45-55 max during the day. My best advice, is pack for all conditions. And I agree, ponchos or raincoats, please noooo umbrellas, makes it so much harder for the rest of us to get around, not to mention making us wetter as the rain pours off the edges, lol! My point is, like others have said, don't count on the forecasts, if we had, we would not have been prepared for the cold temps and it would have made for miserable park hopping. Enjoy your trip!

Speaking of umbrellas, when I moved to Florida two years ago I did not own one and figured I would need one so I bought two, a short one to keep in the car and a regular sized one I keep by the front door of my house. I have never used either one. Most of the time when it rains here it is usually so light that an umbrella isn't needed. When it does rain hard I stay inside.

The daily rain in afternoon is in the summer rainy season of late May through early October, the rest of the year is much drier although it can rain at anytime. As others have said ignore the forecasts until a day out.

How about an umbrella that can also be used as a selfie stick?

;)

AND... Speaking of umbrellas at WDW (and in keeping with our earlier "electrical discussion,") one thing that one should NOT do is use an umbrella if there is a chance of lightning.
At the Fantasmic! amphitheater during rain delays, they specifically make announcements warning guests to not use umbrellas, as they might act as a lightning rod and attract a strike... causing serious injuries (or worse) for a lot of guests even in the vicinity the single guest who is holding the umbrella.

I can't begin to say how glad I am to hear about "ignoring the forecasts". Our first trip to WDW is that first week of March and I was rather unhappy to see the rain forecast.
