Hi... We have reservations for the Rain Forest Cafe next week. We are going only because our kids have been asking to go. Three trips in a row they have asked to go in. We always let them pick out a toy in the shop but we have not eaten there. We are not big fans of chain food. It usually does not taste very good and the prices are high. In this case we also were not interested in going because they do not take the dining plan. But here we are planning to go because our kids love the atmosphere..... Any thoughts on the food? Does anyone really like it there?? DH thinks it is worth going just to make the boys happy. I am not so sure. Your thoughts??

We like it...enough that we are doing it again when we go this year. I think it is more about the experience and the ambiance than the food for us. The kids have gotten burgers and I think both DH and I got sandwiches..the food was good, not remarkable but good. How old are your boys? It is a fun experience.

Go for the atmosphere. It is a very different place to dine. You'll hear a "thunderstorm," the lights flicker on and off and the "animals" make noises. We all liked our meal there. I think it's equivalent to a TGI Fridays. But it's a fun place to go.

Food is pretty good, like any of the Ruby Tuesday, CHilis, Bennigans, Fridays kind of food. I had the volcano salad and it was great, yummy burgers and picky kinds of foods like chicken fingers, calamari, onion rings etc.

The RFC menu is along the lines of Fridays or Chiles. It is slightly overpriced, but what isn't at WDW? And the food quality and variety on the menu are better than most WDW restaurants. We are in the minority, because we like it, but in all fairness, it is not out of line with WDW restaurant prices.
I say go for it!

We love RFC. DH and I always split the awesome appetizer sampler (yummy crab dip, calamari, chicken fingers, eggrolls, and the kids get pizza or dino nuggets. It's a fun place to eat. The portions are huge, though!

I suggest going for lunch, not dinner. Better yet, just take the boys there for dessert. Save some money. The food's not that good, but the atmosphere is wonderful. Although be warned it is VERY noisy!!! You will probably enjoy it if you know the food is nothing great before you get there.

We have been a few times. Not fancy but fun. We split the awsome appetizer and a burger or sandwich. The kids love it for the atmosphere. I think it is worth it.

The boys are 3 and just turning 5. They love all things animal. They love playing with and prentending to be animals. Their favorite park is AK. It is just their thing....

Our reservations are for an early lunch on the day we leave. We are not going to a park that day, just Downtown. Hopefully it will be a nice experience....

Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback!

I really enjoyed eating there on our last trip. I had the most awsome frozen alcohol beverage and the atmosphere allowed us to have a quiet relaxing meal since the kids were entertained the whole time. The food was pretty good too.

We enjoy it. Fun atmosphere with decent food. We are not big eaters, therefore, we usually have a salad.

Go and enjoy! :thumbsup2

My family and I always eat at this Rainforest Cafe location everytime we are in WDW and it happens to be one of our favorite restaurants. The food is very good and the service has always been good.

We never skip eating at RFC. The atmosphere is cool. The food is fine. My DH always ends up eating the Mojo Bones (ribs), I usually have some pasta or salad. Last trip my son got a flashing light plastic glass - of course he thought that was cool. May be a little over priced but what isn't in WDW.

Your kids will really enjoy the experience.

We went this past Friday for lunch and we are so glad we did. DH had a burger, kids had Dino Nuggets and I had the turkey/ceasar wrap. We enjoyed the food, atmosphere was great and server was very good. All and all, it was a great experience for my kids.

Can't wait to try The T-Rex next year!

I had a bad experience years ago. I have not been back since. However DH has been pestering me to give it a chance again. The atmosphere is cute. :confused3

I really love RFC, it's just really fun and the food is good (not fantastic but OK). I enjoy the pizza, BBQ Ribs, Burgers and Mozarella Sticks. The fries are yummy too.
