Any comments good or bad in regards to the Radisson Resort - Celebration?

My DH and I stayed there in early December. The hotel was nice. Some of it needed updating. The room was clean. We had to ask for wash clothes one day but they were prompt in bringing us some. If you're looking for Disney quality it's not quite here but not the worst place to stay either.

How are the grounds and the pools? Did you use any of the onsite eateries?

The grounds were ok, not anything spectacular. and the pool just looked like a regular pool no theming or slides like at a Disney resort. If you're wanting that special feeling like you get at a Disney resort, for me this just didn't cut it. We ate at Mandolin's for breakfast because it was included in the package price. I wouldn't have gone back after the first time and maybe wouldn't have stayed then if it wasn't already paid for. They didn't have a large selection and it was the same every day. The juice was very good though, and our server remembered us every day, including what we wanted to drink with our breakfast.
If I was just traveling this place would be some place I would stop at, but when I go to Disney I like the "whole" Disney experience and I was a little depressed to leave the parks each night and have to go back to this hotel.

There are 2 pools- 1 is a large zero-entry one with a waterfall feature and a cool pool slide. There is a large kiddy pool area and a large spa. On the other side of the pool complex, there is a smaller "quiet" pool. Around the main pool, there is a DJ who plays music and does games, etc.

The landscaping around the pool and outdoor seating area is very nice- lush, with a little footbridge over a small pond. Not as themed as anything at WDW, but very nice for the price of the rooms. The proximity to WDW can't be beat, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants/lounges on property, so can't comment on them.

This must be the only pool I saw. :confused3 I didn't even see where the other one would have been at. I did notice a listing of activities for kids for the different days, but it was just my DH and myself so I didn't check out what exactly they were.

I was just going to do a search on this hotel. We are coming in a day early next week, so I pricelined a hotel and got this one. I was tired when I did it and did not pay attention to what I hit. I wanted DTD area and think I hit something else by mistake. :confused3 Hopefully it will not be too bad for just the night.:goodvibes

This hotel has good rooms, and some not so good rooms. Even in the not so good rooms the bed linens and bathrooms have been clean. Some rooms will have a musty smell.

If you get placed in a musty room, be firm and request a better room. The customer service is pretty decent, but just be mentally ready for a little inconvenience.

Have a great time! The grounds are nice. If you have a car, there are nice restaurants nearby. There is a Publix with great Cuban sandwiches about a mile down the road.
