Awesome update! I'm so excited to read about the race.
And congrats on the house!

I can't imagine being up that early and having to run!!!
Hope your clothes didn't end up being an issue while you ran!
Oh - hate that you feel overdressed! I hope it turns out you were just right. I know that humidity can be a shock to the system after training in dry winter air!
I am excited to get this race started!![]()
And you're off!!!
I was looking at that exact skirt/leggins, so I'll be interested to hear how they worked for you! I'm an early bird, so I suspect when I do the Princess next year that I'll be up and ready to run! That's one of the only perks of waking up at 4am every day! (I have no idea why I wake this early, but I do!)![]()
Love all the photos. I'm all excited just reading about it.

I'm surprised to hear it took a while for the bus-I didn't think Pop was too far from Epcot. Sorry to hear about the lack of hard boiled eggs-you would think they would have planned for that.
Can you tell me a bit about your garmin? Do you think it would be helpful for a walker or should I just stick to a pedometer for training?
Can't wait to hear more!
There are quite a few people who drive themselves.
Sounds great. But does it feel HUGE?I have a Garmin 205. There is also a 305 which has a heart rate monitor for a little more money. I think a Garmin would be great for a walker too. If you're training for a certain pace, it's a great tool to have because you can instantly see how fast/slow you're going. I think they're much more accurate than a pedometer since they have a satellite. Amazon has the 205 for $117 right now. I love mine!
I wouldn't want to do that. Leave the driving to someone who's awake.

I was going to ask about your Garmin too, does it bother your wrist on long runs? Is it really heavy? I have one just sitting in my Amazon wish list!![]()
Wow, that is an early start!
I love your running skirt.
I hope your clothes didn't cause any issues for you during the race.
Woo hoo! Race time is finally here! That early wake up call is killer. I'm a bit worried about you being too warm. When it's in the 50's I run in shorts. DH ran that race in shorts and a long sleeve tech and he said he was too hot. He wished he'd just worn a short sleeve shirt. So I hope it wasn't too terrible for you guys.
Seeing your pictures and all really makes me more motivated to make this soemthing to shoot for!! The two races I've done seem so BORING compared to this one!! I mean let's face it- how FUN can having Mickey at the starting line BE??!!
Thanks for the info on the garmin- I really need to check into these more!
oh my goodness, I got all misty seeing those fireworks and the gang in their running gear to send you off. How exciting!
It ALMOST makes me want to run. Not. I can't believe (I mean I can, but UGH would not want to do it) how early you had to be up and all the eggs were gone!
That's a darn cute skirt, I can't wait to see how it worked out.
Bummer that you didn't get a better night's sleep, but understandable. It's kind of funny that you wanted to turn the white noise off, but were afraid of making it worse. Sounds like something I'd do.
Looking forward to hearing about the race.
Woohoo! I read it. Can you believe it? Ugh, and I see the darkness you actually started in. I can honestly say that I will never run a marathon, so I'll live vicariously through you...![]()
So, Liz and I were in bed around 10:30, trying to fall asleep to waves crashing and birds crying. I began to hear our neighbors' children screaming next door. I don't think it went on for too long, but even after it was quiet, I just couldn't fall asleep. Around midnight I decided I really wanted to turn the white noise off. It was quiet enough now that I thought I could fall asleep better without having it on. I was pretty sure which button would turn it off, but I was afraid I would hit the wrong button and have it make some crazy beeping noise and wake Liz up, if she was sleeping. So, I left it on.
I believe it was somewhere between 1 and 1:30 that I finally fell asleep. I had pulled the comforter way up over my head to block out as much of the crying seagulls as I could. It was also kind of warm in the room so I had to keep half of my body uncovered.
Before I knew it, Liz's alarm went off. Ugh.Neither one of us had gotten more than an hour or two of sleep. We both got up and started to get ready. I think we were out the door between 3:15 and 3:30.
Thanks!Yes, it does feel bulky and I do notice it during my runs. Do I wish it was smaller? Yes, but it doesn't bother me enough to not like it.![]()
Although I know it was a fun and exciting day, starting it out like this just makes me think you were ready to CRASH in a big way later on. I hate nights before some big event when you can't get to sleep when you need it so badly.
Since I get up so early anyway, maybe I should go down and be a race volunteer sometime. Racing - not gonna happen, but I could be a helper, like register people, hand out water, or whatever.
I bet you were too excited to sleep. I know I wouldda been.
Fireworks at the start? AWESOME!!!!
There were a lot of people in your corral. Do you know how many people ran in the marathon?
Congrats on the house, BTW (if I didn't tell you already)
