Racing to Lose a Toenail ~ My Half-Marathon Weekend *Homeward Bound 3/16 p.25

So excited that you enjoyed Teppan Edo -- as you know, it is one of our favorite meals on property! So much fun and the food is so tasty! Glad you were still able to be seated even though you were late.

Onward to the marathon! :thumbsup2

Strangely enough, I can only ride Mission Space Orange...the green side makes me dizzy! I am weird I guess. Can't wait to hear about the race!

:welcome: This is interesting about the green side making you dizzy but not the orange!

I've always wanted to try Teppan Edo - glad to hear you enjoyed it!

You should try it!

Teppan Edo looks so yummy! I wish I could find a place to fit it in in May.

You need to make room! :goodvibes

Yummy!
We sure enjoyed our Teppan Edo meal. It was a hit, and we will eat there again.

I had only heard good things about it so I was happy to finally try it.

I am trying to keep up with 3 different TRs and I am trying to figure out who is who! I think there is you, Liz and Jenny I keep seeing in all these pictures? :rolleyes1 Actually this is more like it ----> :dance3:

I think perhaps you are reading TRs for me, Jenny, and Amanda. Liz didn't write a TR, but she is friends with both Jenny and I and she went with me on this trip. Jenny will have pictures of both of us in her TR. :thumbsup2

Anyhow, I am glad you posted about the white noise thing b/c I hate sleeping in hotels for the very same reason... noise! Whenever we drive to a hotel it is no problem for me b/c I bring a fan. But when we fly to Disney it always presents a challenge. I def need some sort of white noise at any Disney hotel. When we go again in April I am going to check out the alarm clock at Kidani to see if there is some sort of white noise option. That would be great! I can't imagine running a race and not getting enough sleep the night before. That would really stink. Actually, if there was an option to block out snoring that would be perfect (my husband snores)! ;)

That's so funny because I do the same thing! We normally drive and last time we stayed at POR, we brought a fan along. Worked great!

At home its the fan that works for me but in a hotel I have to use the TV. :happytv:

Can't wait to read more :yay:

Soon!

Teppan Edo = yum! Glad you enjoyed it!

Amanda

It was yummm!

I think our ADR was early enough that they weren't full at that time, which was to our advantage. :thumbsup2

Dying to read about the marathon!!! :cheer2:

Coming up soonish! ;)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

According to the seller's agent, we should hear back about the house today!!! :woohoo:

I've been wanting to try Teppan Edo for a while... I'm glad you liked it. Man, I have a lot of restaurants on my must try list. LOL

I'm glad that POP had some options for you in the am. It wouldn't be good to go running with nothing in your stomach.

Love your night picture of SE from the WS. Looks great! :goodvibes

i still really want to eat at one of those again, i did it once in INDY, but that is it, and candi has never been

have you eaten at any besides at disney?

we have one local here, but i dont know if we should do it, and not get a good experience and have candi not want to eat at tappen edu then?

does that make sense?

Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Teppan Edo.

And yay for being able to get something decent to eat before the half marathon.

Can't wait to read more :surfweb:

The onion volcano looks cool.

The only attraction that I hadn’t done yet at Epcot was Mission: Space.
Not happening for me, I get dizzy on Autopia!!!

Great Picture of the two of you.

Liz set her alarm for 2:45. Ouch!
I'd have another word for it.....:lmao:

I’m someone who needs white noise when I sleep,
I am also, I use a fan at home, on short road trips I have been know to take a small desk fan with me.

Don't we all! And then they keep adding new ones!

I'm glad that POP had some options for you in the am. It wouldn't be good to go running with nothing in your stomach.

I brought some shredded wheat in my suitcase thinking I'd be smart and have my breakfast all ready to go. That is until Liz reminded me that we didn't have a fridge in the room to store the milk. :rolleyes1 If the food court wasn't going to be open early enough, we were going to buy a few items and put them on ice in our room. I think that would have worked out well.

Love your night picture of SE from the WS. Looks great! :goodvibes

Liz did a great job with that picture. :goodvibes My night time pictures never come out.

i still really want to eat at one of those again, i did it once in INDY, but that is it, and candi has never been

I haven't. My husband has though. He actually lived in Japan for a couple of years so he loves anything Japanese.

we have one local here, but i dont know if we should do it, and not get a good experience and have candi not want to eat at tappen edu then?

does that make sense?

Makes total sense! And I think you should wait. Let her experience Teppan Edo and then if she likes it, try your local steakhouse. :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Teppan Edo.

I'm definitely not someone who can run on empty so I was glad they were opening early for us. :)

The onion volcano looks cool.

It was! Then she pushed it around and made choo choo noises.

Not happening for me, I get dizzy on Autopia!!!

What the heck is Autopia? :confused3

Great Picture of the two of you.

Thanks. I love it too. :goodvibes

I am also, I use a fan at home, on short road trips I have been know to take a small desk with me.

Wow! How do you fit an entire desk in your suitcase?? :rolleyes1

I love Teppan Edo too! Great shot of Spaceship Earth from across the Lagoon. I can never get a good picture of it at night with my camera. I really want a nicer one for my trip in March.
Great update! I'm excited to read about your race experience!:goodvibes

I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal; more on my TR later, but I was not so impressed for a variety of reasons. So much goes into making a great dining experience, and it sounds like you hit the right combo!

2:45!!! :scared1::scared1: :scared1: OUCH is right!!! But I think with the adrenaline you'll have for race day, you'll be fine.

I have to say, Carissa, you look fabulous!! What an amazing transformation due to all the hard work! :woohoo:

I guess we were half an hour late, weren't we. I'm SO glad we got in and had our wonderful meal!!! :goodvibes

I guess that nighttime shot from Japan turned out pretty good huh. I didn't think much of it when I took it.

Alarm set for 2:45am! What a great memory. LOL

(I will reply to the previous posts later.)

Just wanted to quickly come on here and say........

WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Took forever to hear back from the seller (bank), but it was worth the wait! We're excited that they thought our offer was the best. They did give a counter offer, but it was better than I thought it would be. We were very happy with it and accepted. Looks like our closing date will be somewhere around the beginning of March!

I just can't believe we finally bought our first house! It really is a dream home for us. There is no way we could have afforded a house this nice if it wasn't a foreclosure. It was built in 2007, has 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2500+ sq. feet, great room, loft, fenced yard, and two car attached garage. We're just over the moon right now!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

:banana::banana: And we're over-the-moon excited for you!! THAT is awesome news, Carissa!! And it sounds like a great home for you to put down some roots in and really love! Congrats!:banana::banana:

:banana::banana:Congratulations on the house!!!!:banana::banana:

Congrats for trying Mission Space. I've only ever done the green side. I don't tend to get motion sick but I've heard of several folks who never do who get sick on the orange side so I figure why risk messing up the entire day when I enjoy the green side.

2:45am.:scared1: Are you sure I want to do this?

Night time pictures are so tricky!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal; more on my TR later, but I was not so impressed for a variety of reasons. So much goes into making a great dining experience, and it sounds like you hit the right combo!

Uh oh! Curious to read your report of it.

I have to say, Carissa, you look fabulous!! What an amazing transformation due to all the hard work! :woohoo:

Thanks Liesa! I need to get back on track or all of my hard work will be out the window. :rolleyes1

I guess we were half an hour late, weren't we. I'm SO glad we got in and had our wonderful meal!!! :goodvibes

Me too!

I guess that nighttime shot from Japan turned out pretty good huh. I didn't think much of it when I took it.

You did a great job! :thumbsup2

Alarm set for 2:45am! What a great memory. LOL

Still freaks me out a little bit thinking about it now. :rotfl:

:cool1: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Thanks!

:banana::banana: And we're over-the-moon excited for you!! THAT is awesome news, Carissa!! And it sounds like a great home for you to put down some roots in and really love! Congrats!:banana::banana:

Thanks Liesa! I can't wait to live somewhere I don't have to constantly tell the boys they need to be quiet because of neighbors. And a place for Baxter to run around outside. :goodvibes And just to have space to store things and lots of room to move around! :cool1:

:banana::banana:Congratulations on the house!!!!:banana::banana:

2:45am.:scared1: Are you sure I want to do this?

:rotfl: I know. It's pretty crazy. If we had gotten some decent sleep, it wouldn't have been so bad. :rolleyes1

Congrats on the house Carissa - that is awesome!! I saw your post on Facebook but then came here. I am so happy for you!! I know how much you wanted the house. So now how long is it going to take before its really yours and you can move in?

LOL at the 2:45 wake up time. I used my old cell phone as my alarm clock since it works so much better than my new "smart" phone. The old phone still had the alarm set for 2:40 AM from all my previous Disney races. I thought that was funny that I didn't have to do more than turn it on and it was already set for the right time. But it still didn't help the way I looked at that time of the morning. I snapped a picture of myself before I left the room and it looks like I am still asleep!! Good thing Disney has the music pumping  so you wake up before the start of the race!!
