Quieter, less crazy resort?

I also agree that OKW is the quietest and most relaxing resort. Olivia's is a wonderful place to eat not noisy and you won't feel rushed. The boat to DTD and the dockside eateries are very pleasant and the bus service was A+

I vote POFQ also. It is quiet and relaxing, but with the added benefit of all your amenities being conveniently close.

"Quieter, less crazy" defines Old Key West. Its away from it all, but not so far that it takes a while to get anyplace. Very relaxing.

Another choice might be Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Exactly these! A cabin, at the back of a loop is the quietest choice of all. All we heard every morning was birds. No one running in a hallway outside your door, or above or below your room. No one else's toilets flushing, showers running or TV. It's wonderful. But there's music, a boat to MK, and the Disney atmosphere and cleanliness.

We've had good and noisy at OKW. A herd of elephants was on the second floor one trip, they were up early and stayed up late. Ran a lot of marathons up there.

Out of all the resorts we have stayed at, I find CSR the most quietest. Maybe it's quiet because during those times there were conventions. The pool was not crowded and the bus wasn't crowded at all. If you want quiet, away from the the hustle and bustle, request the Ranchos section. It the farthest away from the food court and far away enough from the main pool.

I also find POFQ quiet as well. The only time you will hear noise is if you're at the pool or at the food court. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet.

Of the resorts where we have stayed- POFQ definitely was the calmest!

Avoid the Contemporary if you want calm and quiet- I loved it but it was more of a "bustling city" feel.

I caution you that if your room is near the main pool, they may play very loud pop music there in the afternoon. They also have a director playing games with the kids at the pool and they may have a microphone. It is fun for the kids-including my own- but I would prefer to just hear the thematic ambient music at the pool.

Yet another vote for POFQ. :thumbsup2 Even during Spring Break and over the 4th of July, POFQ feels calm and serene.

Someone mentioned Port Orleans, but I would like to second specifically about POFQ. It's so small that it is just naturally quieter. OKW is another fabulous suggestion.

agree with the POFQ, it was sooo quiet and peaceful. Wish I could stay there forever but now that youngest is over 3, we would need 2 rooms ( it would be worth it)

I've not stayed at PO which is getting lots of votes but no one's mentioned BW yet. I think the outside themeing is fantastic but the in-room theming (or lack thereof) fell too flat for me. It was so sleepy that we probably will not return. Hard to beat the SHORT walk to EPCOT. I picked it because small number of available rooms in hopes of keeping the crowds low.

I've also stayed at WL, with it's one building design (everything under one roof), 2 transportation options to parks, and a boat ride to link to all monorail resort dining options. This has become our favorite of the resorts we've stayed at. But, you won't find a "quiet" meal in the Whispering Canyon restaurant and Roaring Forks was sometimes overwhelmed, sometimes nearly empty. Be sure to ask for a room that's not above the restaurant.

I would vote for OKW and CSR. None of the values really fit this description but I would say of the 4, ASMu is the quietest of the group.

I prefer Old Key West. The pools are not packed, the small counter service is not to busy so small wait. Sitting on your balcony/porch is nice and surprisingly quite.

I agree. Even though of its size, OKW is very quiet and relaxing. :)

This. We're here now and this resort is so laid back and quiet. It's definitely not crowded either. For example, when we left Epcot after illuminations tonight, all the other bus stops were packed. We were next to 2 of the All Star resorts bus stops and when we walked up they were PACKED. But our bus stop was empty. And when the bus showed up, there were just a few families behind us. So I'd definitely recommend this place. Oh, and the rooms are huge. Our one bedroom is so spacious.

Yacht Club has always been quiet. I'll tell you about Old Key West when we get back. :)

We stayed at OKW in May and found it to be very quiet. It's really spread out which I think helps.

We've stayed at CBR, WL, AKL, BC, Poly, & GF and for us, AKL was the quieter/less crazy resort. Since AKL is kind of out away from everything, it has a more secluded feel to it, IMO, and offers a quieter atmosphere.

We have stayed at lots of resorts. My rankings on peaceful and quiet would be Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Villas at Wilderness Lodge.:thumbsup2:)

We've stayed at CSR, POR, POFQ, WL, and Poly. From those experiences, I'd have to say that POFQ is probably the quietest and calmest (and this is in August) with Poly being a close 2nd.
