Quick trip report and comparison 6/17

Since the park opens at 9, I'm not planning on heading over until about 8:45 the first day and hope for the best. I think if you wanted to be FIRST in line, you'd have to be there at like 6:30. It's not worth it to me.

be aware that California Adventure has actually been opening by 815am and Disneyland at 845am.

They start to let the Harbor Entrance, M&F, and DTD guests into the entrance lines at 8am.

Very interesting report! I was there too yesterday (DLP only); I tracked actual vs. listed wait times as well for anyone interested. Rides are in order, starting with the first ride at 9 AM:

  • Space Mountain: Posted 30 minutes, actual 36 minutes
  • Splash: Posted 5, actual 4
  • HM: Posted 30, actual 18 (to stretching room)
  • POTC: Posted 25, actual 16
  • BTMR: Posted 30, actual 8 (everyone around me in line was surprised at the discrepancy)
  • Indy: Posted 20, actual 28
  • Snow White: Posted 35, actual 11
  • Casey Jr: Posted 5, actual 2
  • Star Tours: Posted 10, actual 9
  • ROTR: virtual queue (BG 90; called around 1:45, entered at 2:03 PM): 53 minutes to first pre-show, including about 25 minutes of waiting in line when the ride broke down (luckily a fairly short delay)
  • MF: Posted 30, actual 21 (to pre-show; 25 to chess room)
  • Small World: posted 10, actual 9
  • Roger Rabbit: Posted 15, actual 14
  • Peter Pan: Posted 30, actual 23
Wait times were overall very short, particularly in afternoon and evening (I left fairly early and could have easily done more).

Went to DCA today; here's my logs of posted vs. actual wait times, in case of interest (posted in order of riding, starting around 9:10 AM):
  • Soarin: Posted 30 minutes posted, 22 minutes actual
  • GRR: posted 5, actual 2 (near walk on)
  • WEB Slingers: BG 40, 19 minutes to preshow, and around another 10 minutes after preshow to load (ride had some malfunctions that slowed things down)
  • Monsters INC: 15 posted, 7 actual
  • RSR: 55 posted, 46 actual
  • Little Mermaid: 5 posted, around 10-15 actual (this is the one ride I forgot to check my watch when loading)
  • Incredicoaster: 10 posted, 3 actual
  • Goofy: 15 posted, 12 actual
  • Soarin (again): 25 posted, 19 actual
  • RSR (again): 60 posted, 29 actual (the length of the line was noticeably shorter as compared to the line our first time through, so I was not surprised the wait was much shorter than our first time, despite having similar posted times)
So nearly every ride had shorter waits than posted, with (oddly) the exception of Little Mermaid.
