We just returned from a 7 night stay at POP, and I wanted to get my thoughts down while they're fresh in my mind.
We were in the 70s section, building 6, a corner room all the way at the back end of the building. I could see the water (Hourglass Lake?) from my window, as well as the unfinished buildings for the other half of POP. IMO, they need to either finish the resort or take down the buildings - it looks trashy to me to have those unfinished buildings sitting over there, but not a big deal.
My son loved the Hippy Dippy pool, though he did miss having a slide. But overall, he really had a good time there.
The food court was pretty good, but it seemed crowded all the time. That's to be expected from such a huge resort this time of year, but a bit of a pain sometimes.
The surroundings of the resort, with all of the huge decorations was great - my son especially loved the giant foosball players. The rooms were cute and were fine for the two of us, though if I were going to stay there with all four of us, I would want two rooms. That's just me, I like a bit of extra space when we're all there.
The only thing I found to be somewhat lacking at times was the transportation, especially from the water parks back to the resort. We waited 35 minutes one day at Typhoon Lagoon, while 2 buses for every other resort came and went. I finally took out my cell to call POP, and then a POP bus drove up. There were also horrendous lines for the buses every day from the resort to the parks. Again, a function of resort size and time of year, but I think that Disney could do a better job of sending buses more frequently when the lines are backed up like that.
Overall, we had a really good time there. While I much prefer the mods, I would stay at POP again if the budget dictated.
