I am thinking of adding the Quick Service Meal Plan onto my vacation package for my husband, myself and my children... When you have the quick service dining plan for kids do you always have to order from the kids menu??

Yes they must always use the kids menu.

Kids must order from the children's menu, unless you are at one of the decreasing number of CS that has no children's menu.

yes, but have you condisered the DDP? It's not that much more $ and the kids love the Table Service restaurants. My kids would get tired of eating pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac/cheese twice a day, but the DDP allows them to eat a variety of foods. At buffets, they can get anything off the buffet, and at O'Hana they get the same yummy goodness we grown ups get. Just a thought.

Ya know I considered it. My kids are very fussy eaters. We had the DDP one other time and my husband didn't like the fact that 1- it doesn't include appetizer or tip anymore and 2 - you have to plan your day around the everyday reservation??? I don't know i just can't decide. Thanks though!

Those are the exact reasons we chose the Quick Service Dining Plan over Basic Dining Plan. We went during free dining in 2005 (appetizers and tips were included then) and we had a lot of fun at the various restaurants but felt we were slaves to the ADR. We sometimes had to eat when we weren't hungry, had long waits for a table (often when we were VERY hungry), and had to deal with unhappy kids who didn't understand why we had to leave the parks to go eat.

Quick Service will work better for us, I think. I like the prepaid aspect of it and the flexibility of no ADRs. We will still do one or two sit down meals, we'll just pay OOP for them.

Same here! We are using the QSDP in June, and booked 3 OOP TS meals.

Thanks... that was our thinking exactly. Just not sure which sit downs we're going to do yet??? Any ideas?

A trip would not be complete without eating with the Mouse, so I give two big thumbs up for Chef Mickey's. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 That will be our "hooray, we're here" first night meal. We also want to do the Hoop Dee do, because it's my dh's birthday and he loved the show, and 'Ohana because WE LOVE MEAT! I thought that would be a nice last night dinner. I plan to watch Wishes from the Poly beach after we eat.

My main reasons for not doing the basic DDP anymore. I loved the plan but I hated being tied down to the ADR. It took so much time out of park touring, especially your ADR wasn't in the park you were in.

My exact reason too. I did it 2 years ago and was so stressed for the week I did it....I wanted to try it so I did a split one week pkg one week room only. When I seen that they had the new QSDP I was jumping for joy and doing the happy dance :cool1::cool1:

WOW do we think alike or what?? We loved the Hoop De Doo. We ate at Ohana for the 2nd time last year (dinner) and loved it. Breakfast is great there too. And Chef Mickey everyone needs to do that at least once. I was thinking maybe Ohana again but somewhere different for the other sit down. Maybe Morocco? Have you eaten there?

You probably know it but your 13 year old gets adult credits. Only the 6 year old will have to order the child's menu.

Wow, that's funny! :laughing:We haven't tried Morocco but I'd love to. Let me know if you do. I'd be interested to know how you liked it.

We had all of the same thoughts and did the QSDP in Feb...it was perfect. No stress planning the days around ADRs ect...we DID do 2 OOP TS meals. For the required "Mickey Meal" we went with Garden Grill....laid back,...quite,...comfortable, relaxing meal...not the insanity and craziness of CM thank you very much ;) and you can NOT beat the character interaction there...it's much more personal than the other places. The other TS meal was Crystal Palace...that's another can't miss *I* think. If you like the Pooh gang at all then that is the place to be. The food is excellent as well. Both of those places are also reasonably priced compared to some other TS places. We did GG for dinner and CP for lunch.

We are going with 2 adults and 2 children on the QSDP. When we go to a CS that does not offer distinct child's menu item how do we know they subtract the childs credit for the childrens meals versus four adult CS credits.

For CS meals, the adult and child credits are "pooled" together. (unlike TS meals, where they are separated). When you receive your receipt from a CS restaurant, it will just have the remaining number of credits left (total adult and child).

True. When people say your child must order off the child's menu (if one is available) the way it is enforced is that the CM is not allowed to let you order more adult CS meals, than adults show on your room key. In other words if your KTTW card shows two adults and two kids, only two adult meals can be ordered.
