Have you used it? Did you find your options were limited?

I found the link that lists where you can redeem your CS and Snack credits and it seems a little limited. Please share your experiences if you've used it :)

I just made a hypothetical spread sheet and it looks like it would only save us about $25 per person total (not including the savings for the free mugs) because we have 2 TS restaurants booked which we'd have to pay OOP for. (Which also means it would be HARD to still use all those CS credits, plus, we'll have concierge offerings.) It's looking like this may not be a good idea for us :confused3

Are you looking at the latest list? Any 2009 list released prior to December 2008 will not have any restaurants on it that are not owned and run by Disney. That knocks off a lot of restaurants, especially at Epcot and Downtown Disney. The link to the December 2008 brochure in the Everything You Always Wanted To Know sticky thread will give you the most up to date list. All CS restaurants that accept the regular dining plan accept QSDP.

Thank you! I must've been looking at the old list because EPCOT and DTD were the two places that didn't seem to have many options. I'll go look for the other list :)

For me this "we'll have concierge offerings" is the real wildcard in the mix. We did the QSDP in Feb. and loved it....but if your going to have access to the concierge food then some of the appeal of the QSDP may be out the window. We had 2 OOP ADRs as well and used the "extra" CS credits for breakfast a couple days..we also used a chunk of the snack credits to eat breakfast as well. Like I said...for *us* the plan was perfect....it basically made our snacks and mugs free...PLUS more savings on top of it (our *cheapest* adult meal would have been over $14 OOP)

Wow, that was cheap, how about on the flipside, what was one of your most expensive meals??? Just curious as we are pondering changing our dates from June to Sept to take advantage og the FD

May I ask where you ate? I went through each day and chose from CS places in each park we were going to visit. Then I thought about what we'd choose, added a drink and dessert and got a total. I can't say that any place ended up being much more than $15 per adult :confused3

At Cosmic Ray's or Flame Tree BBQ, the main entree (get the combo plate) can be $14 before tax by itself. Add a drink and a dessert (another $5 plus tax) and you can get to $20/pp quite nicely.

There are similar stories about Tangerine Cafe, Pepper Market, and Wolfgang Puck Express. Probably others.

Now, if you go to Casey's, on the other hand, you're spending a lot less (if you were paying OOP) for the same 1 CS used at one of the above.

I guess that's maybe why this wouldn't be such a great idea for us. I don't want to feel like I would HAVE to get the largest thing on the menu just to feel like I'd be saving money. When I calculated, I went with what I thought we would order, and it was rarely the big combo meals with ribs or chicken.

I would not consider paying $29.99/night if we had concierge...

Concierge makes the resort mugs not very useful, and you can get breakfast and snacks there...it seems really not worth it to me...an adult can easily eat 2 counter service a day for less than 29.99...

On the other hand, if you will be in the parks non-stop and not make use of concierge food (then why bother with concierge), then it may be worth it

Well we often "spent" more than $14 on a meal per adult. We enjoyed the chicken/rib combos...along with Tanderine and Sunshine Seasons..ect..ect.. So we tended to spend MORE than $14 per adult at meal time. BTW..the $14 meal was at Columbia Harbor House...you really can't spend more than that there...but the food is good. We are not big hot dog and burger types of people...we would prefer variety, so our CS meals tend to be on the expensive side...it's not a matter of getting the biggest thing so we get our money out of it...it's more along the lines of getting tasty things that are not a burger and fries...we would prefer a real meal as opposed to "fast food". We saved a lot of money over OOP when you add it all up. We ate at Cosmic Rays a couple times...Sunshine...Tangerine...Flame Tree...Wolfgang Puck..ect...all of those meals were well over $14 per adult.

If you think your going to be able to take good advantage of the concierge food then go with OOP...but if it's going to be hit and miss then it might be worth thinking about the QSDP for you. Even if you only eat 2 cheaper meals per day and one snack your still going to break even at least.

This might help: I am debating on adding the dining plan. For 1 week, the total cost difference for 2 adults and 1 child was only about $150.00 for a 7 night stay between the quick service plan and the basic dining plan. If we do 2 ts OOP, we will easily pay that amount, so we are leaning towards doing the basic plan. Hope this helps!

Even as a solo, that was my thinking. For $10.00 more a day, I would lose an extra snack (which I seldom use anyway), but gain a nice TS meal.
