Quick Service Dining 4/15/12-4/21/12

Subbing! Going to Disney in June with family and SIL wants to do the QSDP. I have not done this before and want to make sure I get the best use out of the plan. Can't see pics right now on a restricted computer, but your descriptions of WPE sound delish!

Sorry it's been a few days since the last post. Work has been busy and 13 hour shifts seem to drain ya.

Today we went to Magic Kingdom. Between all of the parks this one was by far the busiest. The other parks usually only 1 ride would have more than a 1 hour wait and here quite a few rides had long waits. We also experienced our only other OOP dining experience at the Crystal Palace and it was much better than Le Cellier in my opinion.

I don't remember the exact names of any of the food, but for a buffet everything was good. It was about $60 for 2 adults at lunch with tip included. If you have a question about a specific food feel free to ask.

For dinner we came back and ate at Casey's Corner. I saw some of the hot dogs earlier in the day and it made me really want one.

Both my wife and I got the Chicago dog with cotton candy for dessert. They gave us an extra drink for some reason. Neither one of us was impressed with the hot dog. The bun tasted stale and the toppings didn't seem to really go together. I would have rather had a Steak and Shake Chicago dog over this one. The cotton candy was good. We mainly got it to take with us and keep the kids occupied while we finished our day.

Now I had to go try the main place for the Dole Whip after enjoying it so much the night before. It was getting dark so the pic isn't that great.

I got the Pineapple float. While it was tasty, I thought it was a little too much pineapple for my taste. They didn't give me much ice cream and it was 85% juice. I much preferred the self serve at Captain Cooks with the swirl.

On our way out of the park my wife wanted some popcorn so we stopped at the vendor right by the gate.

It was fresh and tasted good. I have a popcorn machine in my home theater at home so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary spectacular.

That was everything for that day. We visited Magic Kingdom one more time and then it was time to head home. I'll post some pics of our final day. Unfortunately the only days it rained during our trip was Magic Kingdom days so we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the park.

Really enjoying your reports.

We have the QSDP in the middle of our stay, looking forward to more reviews and photos.

CP looks good. That's one of my favorite buffets in Disney. The food's not fancy but it's comfort food, and the quality has always been excellent when I've been there.

What I wouldn't give for a handful of that Disney popcorn you have in your picture right now :rotfl2:

Today was our last day in the parks so we decided to go back to Magic Kingdom. It had rained in the afternoon the day before so we missed some stuff and there was still a ton we didn't get to try at Magic Kingdom. We got there at park opening and went straight to Main Street Bakery. We wanted to get the kids something good to eat, you would be surprised how many people go there first. Within 5 minutes after we got in it was packed.

With the dining plan you could either get a fruit and a pastry or a breakfast type sandwhich.

I got the fruit cup and cinnamon roll. The fruit wasn't quite ripe yet so it wasn't a hit. The Cinnamon roll was delicious though. Very sweet, I can definately see how it could feed two people by itself

My wife got the ham and cheese croissant. To be honest I thought it was amazing. It had a ton of cheese and was hot and fresh. The only problem is it wasn't a great deal of food by itself so if you just get it, you could be left a little hungry if you are used to eating alot.

The only downside to the Bakery was the employees. This was the only place on the entire trip where the employees didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Noone smiled or said anything polite. I felt more like I was a bother to them when ordering.

For a snack I wanted to try the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel I had read so much about.

Went over to Tomorrowland which was packed and stopped and got one. It tasted good, the cream cheese was nice and sweet, but the pretzel itself had some sort of dusting on it which I wasn't particularly fond of. It didn't seem like it had too much of it or anything, just not something I would get again.

For a late lunch we went to the Harbour House. This was another great meal on the QSDP that is in the top 3 of my favorites along with Wolfgang Puck Express and Flame Tree BBQ.

I had the Lobster Roll. It was wonderful and had alot of seafood on it, it didn't seem like it was just fillers like alot of places do. If anything I could have done with a larger roll to spread out all the extra stuff on. My wife got the Fried Shrimp and it was great as well. Everything was fresh and it was nice having indoor dining and getting out of the heat.

After that it started to rain again and it didn't really stop so we cut our trip to the Disney Parks short. We still had quite a few meals to use up, but we mainly just got stuff to try and stored the drinks and desserts for the trip home. I got pictures of a couple things, but not all.

IMG_9367.jpg

This was the Breaded Parmesan Chicken with side salad. It wasn't anything really special. The chicken was moist, but the flavor wasn't what I expected. I asked if I could get some ranch dressing for the salad, but I was told the salad already comes with dressing on it. I couldn't tell by looking at it. It had some kind of vinaigrette dressing on it, but it was very light and it mainly just tasted wet.

We got some other stuff too, but it was all stuff I have posted on before, nothing much different to review on.

Grabbed these for desserts. I was impressed with the carrot cake and I still have the rice krispy treat in my cupboard!

We went to bed and then had to get up the next day to get ready to come home. We all went and ate a big breakfast, but mainly got stuff we had already had before except for this:

I took the picture with my phone so forgive the quality as we had already packed up the big camera. The waffle was good, fresh and had lots of whipped creme which I love. The chocolate croissant wasn't that great. It tasted a little overcooked and wasn't very flaky. We were all stuffed as we just grabbed a bunch of food to use up our credits.

We also got of bunch of snacks from the shop there, but I didn't take pics. Mainly the Chip and Dale trail mixes and Goofy Candy Co. candy for the trip home.

That was the entire trip! Overall it was amazing and we would love to go back. My 2.5 year old had an amazing time and my 1.5 year old loved it too although he still got scared whenever water would splash on him.

Thanks for reading!

WPE, FT BBQ and CHH are our 3 favorite CS places as well! That cinnamon roll form MSB looks so good!

Thank you for sharing. I have enjoyed your reviews and photos!

Thanks for the great reviews. I've never seen the Breaded Parmesan Chicken on any menu - looks yummy.

The pictures are real Delicious. And it seems that it is worth given the dollars you have spent for the foods.
I love the pictures from Le Cellier's Epcot a lot.
