Just a few notes- I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Sat, Feb 2- we arrived at 5 PM, showered, and headed over to Chef Mickey's for our dinner. We've eaten here many times, and I was debating changing this, but my kids overruled me. This will probably be our last time dining here for a while- the restaurant was pure chaos, the buffet does not have a lot to offer, and Mickey and Goofy did not even make it to our table- after almost 2 hours. Our server was really rushed. I find that the character meals are getting on my nerves the last few trips- probably time to stay away from them, huh?:lmao:

Sun, Feb 3- Our must do dinner trip to 'Ohana. DH and I LOVED this place. We've been talking and talking about it and then- A NEW MENU  The bread was NOT good at all- no more wonton chips. The salad was great, wings were too messy (as usual), potatoes were awesome, the meat was SO MUCH better this time around. It was actualy tender and not rubberized. I had to ask for the dipping sauces, as they were not brought out to our table. The skewered shrimp is AWESOME. Too bad it came out last, as we were SO full. One more thing- we had the steamed pot stickers and they were GROSS.

Mon., Feb 4- Dinner at Le Cellier- fantastic. I had the Mushroom Filet- it was awesome. This is the second trip in a row that we've had fabulous service. I love this place.

Tues., Feb 5- Lunch @ Sci Fi- this is our first time back since 2003. It was actually good! I had the grilled chicken sandwich, DH had the burger, kids had ? I can't remember.

Wed., Feb 6- WCC- We love this place. It was really good, too. We all had the all you can eat skillet and had to be rolled out of here at then end of the night.

Thurs, Feb 7- Coral Reef- We returned after not really liking this place in 2005. It was Ok this time around- not really great. The atmosphere was great- we sat right next to the tank and the kids were thrilled. Service was spotty- our server was in the weeds the whole time.

Fri. Feb 8- OUR BEST MEAL!!!!! This was our first time eating at Kona, and DH and I both loved it! I had the Tuna Oscar, he had a steak (as usual) and kids had the grilled Mahi Mahi. Everything was fantastic, plus I had the best drink of the trip- a Coco Cadillac (Malibu, Midori, Pineapple juice and half and half). Oh my goodness that drink was to die for!

Sat Feb 9- Breakfast at Crystal Palace- food was good, service was great!

Dinner at Liberty Tree tavern- It was Ok, service was Ok, food was Ok, just.....Ok.

I am happy to answer any questions!
ETA- This trip, I found myself frustrated with the kids' meal offerings. I know my kids were sick of eating burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. DH and I are talking about not purchasing the dining plan anymore- we can order 1 adult meal for them to split and they would actually eat their meal! I know they were sick of chocolate pudding, applesauce, and jello by the end of the trip. I was sick of watching them eat it!

Kim thanks for you reviews. Glad you had a great vacation.

Since you ate at both Kona and Ohana for dinner which one would you recommend over the other. We are 3 adults - myself and 2 DD (21, 28 both pickey eaters) have not eaten at either one before. I keep going back and forth between the two. I can make my ADR's on Sunday.

Definitely Kona- it was more reserved than 'Ohana and the quality of the food was MUCH better. 'Ohana is fun, but very loud and chaotic. The pace of the food coming out is dizzying- this is not a relaxed meal! There were about 30-40 kids participating in the hula/limbo with Lipoa the performer, so you have kids running around the retsaurant, having a great time, but being KIDS.

Kona was fantastic. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer, my tuna was amazing (it came with fried lump crab meat) and for dessert I had the banana creme brulee  Kona would hands down be the best choice for your group.

I read another recent Ohana review and they said because of the negative comments about steamed potstickers that Ohana is now frying them

That's gotta taste better than what we had! I missed the chips, though- they were so good with the dipping sauces.

I'm anxious to hear which one you decided on.

Our trip is Aug 16-23. From the ADR booking calculator my 180 days is Sunday. I called Saturday and was told Monday 6 months and 2 days after check in date. I called Sunday and booked all but one (Yak & Yeti) which would not allow booking yet.

I picked O'Hana as both DD's like shrimp.
