Does anyone know if there is overhead storage for carry on bags. Hubby's bag is too big to hold on lap but too small to put under .... get my drift?
TIA

most of the busses I have been on have a small space overhead, but i've never seen anything heavier than plastic bags put up there. Our bus drivers have asked us to keep our laptop bags with us. But there is not space to them under the seat. Our busses have never been totally full, so we will set them in the seat across the aisle.

during busy times, they sometimes use old Mears busses along with the Magic Express busses. Your bus may be one of those, so it is hard to tell you exactly what to expect.

Everytime we use ME we get to use the overhead storgage. Our son has to take his nubulizer with his and a whole bag of other medical supplies. His bag is about the size and shape of a backpack and is a little heavy with all of his supplies. The overhead has always worked for us. I hope taht this may help you some.

Yes, but it isn't like an overhead bin on an airplane. It is much smaller (wouldn't fit my backback) and there are no doors that close. It is kind of a 4 or so inch net that helps stop a light bag from sliding around... but this is it....

Personally, I put my backpack on my lap and go from there....

Yeh, what Duds said. It's not an overhead bin, it's an open overhead shelf. And there's not a lot of vertical room between the shelf and the roof of the bus.

I can't picture what you mean when you say the bag is too small to go into the bus' cargo hold.

Thanks for the quick responses -- i guess what i meant was i don't want to get into the problem of holding up the bus since it seems to be a sore spot for some readers -- I think we will go with the "under the bus route". His bag is one of those bags that looks like what flight staff uses -- smaller than a regular suitcase but he fits a week's worth of clothes in it when he travels on business.

I guess I'm one of those 'sore spot' people :cool1: I dont think ANY of us have a problem with people using the under bus for larger carryons and stuff, as DME cant take those. We tend to have 'issues' when people get all their checked luggage, and if you have a family of say 4, you could have 4, 5 who knows how many large pieces of luggage. You get 5 of 6 families that do that and all the sudden you could have 20 - 30 large luggage items that have to be offloaded etc etc. That's when it starts to add on the time between resorts, and just slows the whole deal down. Again, there isnt anything that says you cant do it, just some of us dont think that's the spirt of DME :goodvibes A duffel type bag that was a carryon item, not a problem at all, as you dont have a choice but to take it with you :thumbsup2

Think of the racks on commuter railroad trains. Big enough for a coat or (small) briefcase. You'll want to keep your laptop computer on your lap. Let the driver stow any bag too big to keep on your lap..

Anything you carryon on the plane belongs on (or under) the bus. None of us have an issue with that.

I don't understand why some people waste their time getting their stuff from baggage claim and schlepping it around MCO not to mention wasting the time of other guests while the driver loads and unloads the stuff.
