Hi everyone I had a really quick question- I just wanted to see if there is a way for a non-Disney vacation club member to look for availability for resorts in which to use points?

Nope. And it's against DISBoards rules to ask for someone to check for you.

I looked through The Welcome Home Member Services post and it actually says questions about availability like these are welcome.
There used to actually be threads listing DVC resorts & availability before DVC went online instead of calling Member Services.

Please feel free to post exactly where it says on the DIS DVC Boards that asking about availability is forbidden.

We do ask that requests about availability for specific dates NOT be asked or answered since such availability can (and will) change. General availability questions like "What are my chances of finding a SSR Studio at 7 months for late August" are welcome on the DVC Member Services Forum.

An actual helpful response would have been to direct an OP to look on the rent/trade board for a member who has points to rent so she could send them a PM.

As to the original question, nope there is no direct way for non-DVC member to check availability. :-(
I know it would be nice sometimes when trying to plan a vacation with multiple families and things, but there's no option that I know of.

The problem is that availability changes by the minute. So you get a message that there is availability at a resort for your days, but even the member doesn't know how many are available. And if it is just one, it could be gone in the next minute to another member.
