Can you order liquor from them? If so, how do you do it?

We are arriving at MCO at 4:30pm and using DME to Pop Century. We also have a dinner reservation at Boma at 8pm so our delivery window is fairly small, from about 6-7pm. I assume we would need to be in the room to accept the alcohol, yes? I really love being carded since I am about to turn 35:lmao:! Any suggestions?

Put your request in the notes section on the order form.

You can put your request in the comments section. This is what we did this summer. I then called Garden Grocer to confirm and they had me fax a copy of my drivers license to verify age. Bell services brought up all the groceries as well as the alcohol and did not ask for any form of ID (my DH and I are well past the age of being carded!) Also, my credit card was not charged for the alcohol until the day before delivery.

Just as queendarvet said - you put what you want in the comments section and then once you have your order # you fax or email a copy of your drivers license. They will call you with a price. We ordered a case (24) of Miller Lite cans for DH for our August trip & it was about $23 or $24 I think with their surcharge...so more than buying yourself but MUCH cheaper than buying from Disney. Our order was also left with Bell Services & they just brought it up with everything else.

Note: I asked them about also getting liquor added to the order & that would have to be a 2nd stop & they would've charged an extra $5 fee to do that one. Since we were checking 1 bag I decided to use an empty plastic 24 oz water bottle and just fill it with my liquor and check it. That way I didn't worry about it getting broken. We were also going to Vero at the end of our trip so I knew we'd be renting a car & could stop for "refills" once we got the car...so I left an extra fifth in our Owners Locker along with the dab that was left from what I brought down. I ended up transferring that bit into a smaller 16 oz bottle which is easier to take to the pool etc. That makes my Diet Coke & Captain "to go"!! :rotfl:

I don't know why I've never thought about checking liquor in by bags! What a good idea. Especially some of the stuff that you just want for one person. I like to make different drinks but stick to only one favorite to save on the liquor bill. But from now on, I'm taking some of the more exotic stuff from home!:thumbsup2

If I were to pack my liquor in plastic bottles and wrap the bottles in bubble wrap, how safe would it be if I checked them in a duffel bag?

What about bottles of pop too? I would have to watch the weight of the bag, but can the carbonated beverages survive?

I never really considered bringing the stuff myself. It makes more sense to do it this way since we are not planning on eating any meals in the room.

Hmmm...now to rethink the luggage situation...

We have a total of (3) Free Business Class upgrade vouchers (flying AirTran) so we can both upgrade on the DTW-MCO leg, but only one of us (me) can upgrade on the way back. We already have coach seats selected for both legs in case the upgrades aren't available. I know that I can pack everything I need (except the mini-bar:lmao:) in my carry-ons. (*AnalAnnie, I too am a firm believer in the packing cubes:lovestruc) So, my tentative plan is to use a suitcase for our beverages and bring a duffel bag. If we can't get the upgrade (doubtful, but possible), I would want to pack the booze in the duffel bag and pay the $15. Then, on the way home, I'd have two options: 1) Neither of us upgrade and split the fee to check the suitcase; or 2) I upgrade, check our bag(s) and then once onboard, offer my BC seat to whoever is next to my friend, if that is even allowed. I don't need any of the BC amenities (beverages) on the way back since it is a 10:30am flight and I have a three-hour drive home from the airport. I do want the free checked bags, though.

Hmmm...I just love planning!

:lmao:Kristen - you drink the booze while you're down there then you don't need to worry about bringing it home!:rotfl:

Seriously, I used a 16 oz water bottle & filled it up ALMOST full - I left about 3/4" at the top probably for breathing room (not sure if it need that or not) and made sure the lid was VERY tight. Anyway, I just plopped it into a big ziplock bag and then I think I put the ziplock in a plastic bag like from Target or something & tied it up "just in case" I sprung a leak. I packed that in the middle of the duffle somewhere but by the time it GOT there it was no longer in the middle! :rotfl2: Anyway, it was fine. I certainly didn't worry about it like I did whenever I have checked glass in the past. (Yes, I have checked glass wrapped in bubble wrap and then in a roll of clothes.) You DO need to watch your weight limit tho so I probably wouldn't pack the pop to bring if you're talking about very much of it. Just get that there...

BTW - we also use Air Tran and we had the vouchers saved up from our A+ Rewards for a free upgrade to Business Class for our trip down!! I stayed up until midnight to call 'cuz one person at A.T. had told me I could call as soon as the clock turned to the calendar date before our flights. (Our flight was at like 7:00 am on a Sun. & I called at 12:01 on Sat.) That was a bit "off". LOL...I called 3x before I got someone who was willing to do it before exactly 24 hrs. Anyway, it was nice except I had booked us into the 2nd row of these seats & we ended up being in the MIDDLE of this big family. They had just about all of the other seats in Business Class & they were loud & rednecky & annoying the whole way. They yelled back & forth around us & were just gross. Sorta ruined the whole first time ever upgrade experience for me.:rolleyes1 I would ask now for either the front row or the back row if available just to avoid the whole middle thing. GOOD LUCK getting the upgrades! It was awesome not having to pay for the checked luggage fees going down!

We've flown twice on AirTran. Both times we paid for the upgrade for our DTW-MCO leg and both times we were put in the front row, 4 across. Although I loved the upgrade (lots of free "sedation" on the way to Orlando:rotfl2:) I would have preferred having the space under the seat in front of me to store my bag. I was able to cram my purse under my seat and my DD's little backpack under hers, but they were difficult to access. I had to store my carryon and my computer bag in the overhead bin. (No, I was not over our limit since DD only had her backpack and no other item) I would like to try for the second or third row this trip. I will be working at midnight the day before our flight so I should have no problem calling at 12:01am unless I am on a call. My friend is not working that night so she will have to stay up to make her call. Can I tell them who my travel companion is so that they seat us together, even though we booked separately? Or can I just get her confirmation number and do the upgrade for her?

Oh I didn't think about not having the seat in front to stash things under - 'cuz we ALL have something!! Sounds like the back row then for us if we ever get to upgrade again! I don't know about your friend. I would probably call them before then & ask if one of you can call with both confirmations & do both of you?! Maybe. Humm... Yep. I would call 'em & ask a zillion questions first!!:lmao: Probably have a Captain & diet coke first too. :rotfl2: (We had a 7 am flight so the "complimentary beverages" weren't as valuable on our flight!)

Now, if I could just get AirTran to offer Captain Morgan....

Captain and Diet Coke with a lime is like nectar from the gods;).

:lmao::thumbsup2 The Captain is my MAN!! :rotfl: I buy the stuff by the gallon at home!! :rotfl2: They charge like $13.99 for a PINT of it I think in the Disney stores...which is why I bring my own!! A pint is like 16 oz!! I found it in the FL liquor stores in a PLASTIC fifths for under $16!! :thumbsup2 Now THAT is what I'd call "travel size"!! :lmao:

(Our liquor stores in Maryland do not have it in plastic...I like that idea!)
