Quick ECV question-Ack! I'm panicking

Ok, so I've posted with questions before but not for a few months...will be leaving in 12 days for WDW and will be renting an ECV for my mom (who's 85) from Walker Mobility.

Here's my question...

My mom can walk, and I thought I had read somewhere initially that like say we're going into a shop or a restaurant or she just wants to walk around a bit that we can just park the ECV and then come back and get it when she needs it...

Now I just read on another site that there is special ECV parking??!?! Does this mean if she wants to come into Emporium she can't just leave it outside off to the side somewhere or what exactly are the rules. I know she won't want to us it constantly (nor does she need to. ie. I don't think she'll bring it to MNSSHP).

The important aspect to remember is not to leave a scooter in the parade route at any park. A CM will do a manual override to move it. You don't want to block entrances or exits to anything. You will have specified areas to park a scooter if you take it all the way into a ride queue or an attraction or show. Sometimes, a CM will move your scooter from the entrance to the exit if it's not one in the same.

I think all of this is more or less common sense and you cannot create a safety hazard like blocking entrances.

Most people will park their scooters with the stroller parking area when you can do it this way.

At restaurants try to find an area that's less populated and away from the high traffic areas. Usually this means towards the back or sides.

In some cases it will be very obvious where to park scooters at restaurants; because, there will be other scooters there before you.

Chances are pretty good a CM will tell you if you are doing something wrong, if there's one around you.

I've never seen parking designated for ECVs--though I may have missed it. I have seen people park in stroller parking areas though. If I want to park at a restaurant, I usually just ask a CM where they want me to put the ECV. I don't leave it outside at stores because shopping without a cart for balance is something I can't do. I usually just avoid the shops--Hey! It saves money!!!

Some attractions where you have to transfer from an ECV to a wheelchair (such as Space, Pirates, or RnRC) have special parking areas. Otherwise you can take the ECV through the line to Load/Unload.

If I am going into a restaurant I will attempt to park in the lobby, if it is large enough, otherwise I will park near the entrance or in Stroller Parking. Unless yoiu are rreally blocking something, unlike strollers, CMs will tend to leave a wheelchair or ECV parked where it is.

Gosh, it would be so wonderful if people wouldn't try and bring their ecvs into the Merchantile! I always try and find a place to park mine outside and just stay on foot as long as I can stand it (usually not very long!). You just cannot navigate the rows inside the stores with those! and I use one!

I was told by a CM to park the ECV with the strollers.

This was after I had to ask where it had disappeared to! I had left it outside a ride, in a spot I thought was out of the way. When the CM came thru to clean up all the strollers, they also moved the ECV, by free-wheeling it, to the stroller area.
After I started leaving it in stroller parking, it was never moved again, so it seems to be the correct place!
