what is your stateroom gift?

the special merchandise offering is it the same as gold if you spend 100 dollars or more at the two stores at the same time you get 25 dollar onboard credit. is it more for platinum?

what is the exclusive platinum experience?

a free palo dinner can someone use it for the brunch instead of the dinner?

thankyou

Platinum experience on our Oct.16/23 B2B-our 18th&19th sailings
included a more in depth galley tour with the use of the freight elevator down to deck #A , seeing the provisions coolers dairy,wine/alchohol, and the Butcher/Fish Monger room--(I work in a grocery store and it smelled like the butcher shop--gross).
The Magic's water tight doors, crew does and don'ts signs, Trans atlantic breakdown charts for the menues signs, and provisions offices.

When exiting the elevator we were offered champaign, crispy treats, choc cov strawberries, etc. After tour we received DCL recipes in a binder.

That's cool. I hadn't heard about that. What day/time did they do this tour?

We are platinum and sailing soon. Last time we did the backstage theater tour and enjoyed it, except we had to leave early to get to Palo brunch.

I'm hoping this time that the two will not overlap:thumbsup2

Oops, I forgot to mention that we are doing the Western Caribbean cruise.

As of our last cruise, which was in January of this year, you were not allowed to substitute the brunch for dinner.

At 1:30 Monday I believe and it was better than the backstage IMO which was good riding the stage elevator.
We were able to do Palo Brunch on our Platinum for our group-We traded out dinner for this on our Western sailing 10/16

I am so curious about this! I was on the Oct 16th sailing and am also platinum. I never heard anything about this tour! We were only offered the Sting Ray tour. This was cruise #13 for me---do you think it was something special offered as you have more cruises? I sure would have loved this tour!!!

They just offered the tour automaticaly to us-we knew we could do sting ray-- but I don't swim
We wanted this tour anyways.
I wonder what they will offer on our 2/24 Dream sailing?

Was this tour listed on your flyer? That is how we knew about the sting ray tour (which was actually way better than we thought as they basically let us do the sting ray excursion for free). But I would love to know about how to get on this tour! I will be sailing again in Feb...!! :goodvibes

That's interesting that you were able to do the brunch as your Platinum perk and not the dinner. We were told that no, you could not do that. But then we were on a 4 day cruise that time, maybe that made a difference?

Sadly we never got to the stage elevator riding portion of the backstage tour. We had to leave to get to Palo ontime for our brunch.

They left a message on our stateroom phone for options
I beleive we were automatically given the tour as we forgot to call back and tell guest services what we wanted as our choice.

As far as I know Palo brunch is not offered on cruises that are less than 7 days.

We just got off the Magic on the 20th.

We got a letter in our stateroom laying out the program/giving us the various options. Said they'd call the next morning, which they did, concerning the tours. Our problem was that we were the only two who had signed up for the galley tour so they canceled it, giving us the option of the backstage theatre tour. While that would have been fine for most, we were on a back-to-back and had done the theatre tour the week before. IOW, we were SOL on a tour.

They never called about the other platinum gift offering - the choice of sparkling wine, cheese platter, fruit plate, or shrimp cocktail. My advice is to be proactive about this one given that they blew us off two weeks in a row. I did go to guest services and we did get the gift so I can't complain too much, but it was a chore rather than a perk.

Overall, it left a bad taste in our mouths rather than feeling 'special', which I assume is the point of the entire program. We didn't get a tour and felt we had to beg for the food/wine gift.

Other than that, the back-to-back was great!

We cruised over Halloween and were offered the galley tour or the stingray adventure tour. We chose the gallery tour and there were about 20 platinum members that signed up. We had done the back stage tour back in January for our cruise.

For the Halloween cruise we had Palo brunch and while at brunch I told our server that we would not be able to attend any Palo dinners.....and she told us that she would not charge us for our brunch since we could not make a Palo dinner so we were comped the brunch for our "perk".

We received both a letter in our stateroom and several phone calls reminding us to pick our free gift and to contact guest services with our choice.

MV of the Dream will be our 20th cruise!!

So they're letting people go into the water for the Platinum stingray experience now? We've done it before and it was only a talk. We tried to do it on our last cruise earlier this month, but they didn't know we were there (we were the only ones) so we ended up not doing anything there. We were still told it was an educational experience, not an in-water tour, so I'd be interested to see if other platinums actually got to swim with the rays recently.

You were lucky you at least got a talk for the stingray tour. We were seated in the hut ...and waited and waited and waited. Finally a nice young man came in. said 'this is basically a Q and A session, do you have any questions?" and that was it. Since my husband and I were the only ones there AWKWARD doesn't even begin to describe it. I tried to think of a few things to ask but the whole thing was more of a chore. Last 2 cruises we skipped whatever was offered fearing a repeat of our first experience.

Yikes, that would be even worse than waiting and having no one show up!
We at least did get to see one interesting thing. One of the trainers asked us if we wanted to see her do a session while we were waiting for the platinum session, since we got there early. She was working with one stingray on learning about the feeding platform and also training another who is very smart for a stingray and needs extra mental stimulation (that ray is learning to follow patterns laid out with a rope on the bottom of the water). I had no idea they actually do enrichment activities for the smart rays, so we enjoyed seeing that.
