Alright, my mom bought me and my boys a Disneyland trip for my bday and I'm super excited but have ?'s. We are going Jan. 13,14,15 and we're staying at the Disneyland hotel. We always go during peak season, and I just always accept that it will be crazy busy, deal with it, and still have a great time.

So what can I expect for the off season? Do I dare to hope that the ride lines will actually be shorter than the standard 45-90 min I normally see? lol. No really, last time I was there Indy standby line was always at least 90 min (sometimes 120 min) and no more fast passes. Will the fast passes still be working if it isn't that busy? Is there a different strategy that you use during the offseason in regards to which rides first? Or which fast passes to get first? Even if it isn't as crowded, the park isn't open as long so I want to make sure we can still do everything.

We were going to try to utilize the monorail since we are staying on property...how often does it run since it is midweek and off season? It doesn't go all the way to the DH right? Is there "priority" seating for hotel guests if it's crowded?

Thank you!!!

11 days and counting....whoo-hooo!!!

Lines will be shorter but things will be shut down. And yes, the FP machines will still be up, we still get them and then sometimes don't even need them. lol Strategy is the same, the first to go are SP and Indy so get them when you can. Have fun!! We leave tomorrow!

Alright, so we will get all our fastpasses still for later in the day...just in case. I'm a little bummed that HM will be down, but at least all the big ones are still up.
Thanks, and have fun this weekend!

Thanks!!! I'm sure we will. You guys have a ball too!

One thing I love about DLH is being able to walk a very short walk to the monorail entrance. It takes you into DL in Tomorrowland. It won't be busy when you are there. Then we start our day there, grabbing a FP for Space, riding Buzz and Star Tours, deciding whether or not to brave the line for Nemo....Anyway, I think during slow times they only have one monorail running which means about a 15-20 minute wait roundtrip. I think the days you are going will be very uncrowded. I would be surprised if you had more than a 20 minute wait for anything. The downside of course, is no fireworks or F!. Is the parade on? I hope so, it's awesome. Have a wonderful trip.:goodvibes

January is a great time to visit DLR! :goodvibes Much shorter lines. Some rides have no waits. Do grab FP for later but you won't need them early in the day. Since you are going mid-week you may find many of the FP machines not even being used. When crowds are low, many of the rides don't use them.

Have a great time-we may be there when you're there-DD9 is off track in Jan. and we haven't been able to go to DLR since 12/19 (blocked out). We are planning our first Jan. trip 1/5 or 1/6. :goodvibes
