Questions for ABE Experts

We've got a 5:50 pm flight out of ABE next month, we expect to be in the area of the airport by 2 at the latest. I'm paranoid about the possibility of missing my flight, we like to get to the gate early then kick back and have a few drinks at the bar, but I understand that ABE has no such thing, correct?
Is there a nice place very nearby where we can have a few and get through security, etc without a rush? We're not planning on getting Comfortably Numb, so a short drive from a nearby pub to the parking lot won't be an issue. Thanks for any advice offered.

I would call to see if LA Cafe has a bar.

I've been to alot of airports traveling on business and I don't think I've seen one without a bar. It's been awhile since I been through ABE but it's big enough to have one.

There is a bar past the gates in ABE at the cafe place, but I've seen it closed sometimes. I'd call to double check. If not there's a hotel down the street that would have a lounge or bar.

Thanks for the info, TaraPA and for the link, DebbieB. We've got AT flight 1050 in March 2 going down and 1051 on the flip, March 11. To my mind, once we're safely in the airport our vacation has begun and we like to begin it with a Happy Hour (or two).

LOL when you return to ABE on 3/11, look for a crazy bunch of ladies waiting to get on that filght to MCO in the gate area. That's the group of girls I'm traveling with, but I couldn't leave until the 12th. They all head down on the 11th!

I just booked AT flights today & paid the most I ever have for them. For 3/12-16 I got $62 each leg - booked those a month ago....for 3/22 it was $79 and coming back on 3/28 it was $100...ouch. I've been watching the fares for weeks & they've never gone down, just up. When the fights for 3/22 popped up today with "only 5 seats left" I grabbed them.

It's too bad Allegiant switched back to Sanford, we flew them to MCO last year, non-stop, for $19.99 a leg! Now THAT'S a bargain!

This was our most expensive AT flight also, $97 for each leg. I bought them as soon as they came out, the return leg dipped into the $70s briefly but they went straight up from there. We're ahead by not having to drive and park at PHL, saving time and $$. I'll look for your friends.
