Questions about WBI cause I failed

There could be any number of reasons for failing the WBI. The most common cause is to not realize what the question is asking. The next is to answer similar questions differently, that is suspicious to Disney. My advice is to use strong answers and be timely with your answers. Put your phone away and concentrate solely on the questions. If you fail, then it is not the end of the world. There was just something Disney didn't like and chose not to pass you. If you can, reapply or try for one of the PIs, though they are very competitive.

When I did my WBI, back in spring 2010, I had issues with my Internet Explorer because my internet connection wasn't great. I noticed a lot of my questions timing out. I knew I was perfect for the program and I couldn't think of any reason they would reject me based on my answers. So I called and mentioned that I had issues with my questions timing out and that I really felt like I would be great for Disney and she gave me a reset. She said if I failed that one I would have to try again in 6 months. I passed, got accepted into the fall 2010 CP as a BBB hostess, and now I'm part-time. :) I'm sure there is some way they can tell if you had technical issues.

A few terms ago they were having comparability issues with IE; but those have been fixed and I haven't heard of anyone getting a reset for that lately.

In case anyone else is still wondering about this issue:

I made some calls, sent some emails, talked to a couple of really rude people and one who was nice but not helpful, and basically the conclusion is this: There is no chance in hell of changing the results of the web interview, and no they will not tell me what I did wrong or how to improve for the next time.

Actually the conversations I had regarding this really turned me off of reapplying in the future. I get that probably tons of people contact them about this and whatnot but I am really disappointed in the uncaring/inconsiderate way that several people handled my questions. :/

I'm sorry that you didn't find people were nice about it when you called! I think the problem is that the WBI is designed, at least in my opinion, to weed out people who can't handle the stress of front line guest service jobs, coupled with weird hours and roommates. I'm not suggesting that you can't cope with any of that, but in my opinion that's its primary purpose. They can't reset it because they already have a huge amount of people who pass and move on with the application process, and because they don't want every applicant who failed to keep going until they pass. It would kind of defeat the purpose.

Also, it's a computer program. I doubt that they even have a record of anything but results. The program processes your data and spits out a yes or no answer. I doubt they could even tell you what you answered for everything. Even if they could tell you how to pass it, again it would defeat the purpose of it. They want people to be honest in it, so that they can weed out applicants who may not be able to hack it. I'm sure a bunch of people just like you, who are qualified and would do really well, fail because of one or two trick questions, but they have no way of telling who those people are. Also, phone interviews aren't always the best at telling 100% how someone will handle things.

What I'm trying to say is, don't let this affect you applying in the future! It's an awesome program! The phone CMs aren't trying to be mean I'm sure, they just don't have the information/can't tell you anything. If it's a program you really want to do, don't let one barrier get in your way!
