I hope someone can help me out here. We have taken two 7 day cruises,(Western and West Coast) and are considering taking the 4 day on the Wonder next summer. I have never been on that ship, and would like to know the major differences if any. I know nothing about the Nassau excursions, and the Castaway Cay excursions are news to me too. Is there a Palo Brunch? Is there a Formal Night? Are there any recent 4 day navigators out there? Is there a Wendy Tea? I heard they have a Pirate Night...do a lot of people dress up? We had a blast on the West Coast cruise...ARRRGH! I need all the information I can get please!!!
Also, has anyone ever taken some form of transportation from the ship back to the Orlando area? I have only taken the Disney transportation and that is how I plan to get to the ship, but we would like to stay a few days at the Orlando Marriott before catching our plane home. Anyone??

There's a Palo Brunch only if there's a day at sea....

No Wendy's Tea

No Formal Night

We've done Budget Rental cars and DCL transportation from Port C back to Orlando.

Budget is easy to work with (or has been for us)

For Navigators check out www.dcltribute.com I think Dave has navigator's on his website.

There are several differences in what there is to do on board. There is more of a variety on the 7 day cruise, basically because you are there longer so you can fit more in. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty to do on a 4 day. We have done it twice, 3 day three times, and 2 , 7 day. All were fantastic cruises. People did dress up for pirates night, but it seemed to me that you get more participation on the longer cruises.
Nassau excursions are pretty good, bu the dock area is not impressive at all. It use to be really dumpy looking. We were afraid to walk on our own there 3 years ago. Now they have cleaned it up a lot and plenty of security. We have done the glass bottom boat excursion, it was very noice. If your into tropical fish, kids love this, and weather permitting you can see a ship wreck too. We also did the Atlantis tour, by ferry boat. We enjoyed it too. The boat is crowded, but they narrate the entire trip across to Atlantis. You do have a bit of a walk from the dock to the Hotel. But there are tour guides there to greet you and break you into small groups and then they take you through the casino and into the Aquarium . It is well worth seeing. Part of the aquarium is outside up a few stairs ( bad for strollers) then under a small restaurant. When they are done you can enter the aquarium as many times as you want to explore it slower to really enjoy it. The huge glass walls are done so that children can easily view all the fish. Very nice, and of course the casino is there if your a gambler. The ship back leaves about every 45 minutes for the rest of the day so no need to hurry back. The historical city tour, is really a grat tour if your into the history of the area. You travel in small groups in a air conditioned mini van to see 2 forts, one is a guided tour, the other a self guided tour. The Queen Anne's staircase is very tall. You will stop at the bottom, and you can take pictures and then ride to the top in the van and see the fort, or you can climb the stairs and meet your guide at the fort. It was well worht the price of the tour. We also enjoyed the pirates museum. You can walk to it fromthe ship. You'll see the straw market, it is 2 blocks behind it, a big purple building. The pirate who greets you is a real character. Hand on to your rings and watches while speaking with him!!! The museum is like a replica of a pirate ship to show you how they lived, actually artifacts in glass cases at the end. Several exhibits to see. More than worth the $12 per person we paid. But if you have kids, remember there is a lot of plaques to read and the first part of the museum is very dark, replica of a street along the dock. But you can walk through the dark very fast if you want. Also there is one bathroom inside the museum, about 2/3 of the way through. Bathrooms are very hard to find, of course Atlantis has one. But most areas dont have public restrooms and water fountains. Lots of restrooms have attendants that charge up to $1 to use the bathroom. Water is very expensive. There is also a public restroom in the building on the dock that you must pass through to go through security to get to and from the ship. We have also taken the horse drawn carriage through town. It as $10 per person. It was about 25 minutes long and the driver did a narrated tour of the town, but with the traffic noise we couldnt really hear him. But the ride itself was very nice and would do again. Be warned to take some $1 on you as everyone has their hands out for tips. The straw market has good buys if you like to dicker for you stuff. It is extremely crowded with narrow isles. No room for strollers! It is a fun place to browse. On the block behind it you will find dozens of stores with jewelry, clothes, liquor, cigars, etc... If you want to shop I suggest you attend the meeting in the theater with your shopping guide. They will give you tips and a map of stores that are approved by the cruise line. meaning you can return things there, better quality merchandise, less chance of getting ripped off. Well that's all I can think of for now. If you have any specific questions, just ask and I'll try and answer them for you.

I just looked at a Naviagtor from 5/8/05 and there was a Tea with Wendy on the Sea day. It was at 11:15 am. I did not go to Davie's website because the Navigator's are older there then the site I used. If anyone is interested in the site I check you may pm me your email address and I will email you the website.

They do not have a formal night but they do have a semi formal night.
First night: Casual
Second Night: Semi Formal
Third: Tropical or Pirate attire
Fourth: Casual

This is what I got from the Navigator.
