Questions about paying for room

I made reservations for ourselves at POFQ and for my sister at ASMov.

I paid my deposit over the phone with my cc, but my sister wanted to pay the deposit via check.

Yesterday she got her confirmation letter in the mail asking her to send the deposit. She said she'd rather pay for 1/2 of the room when she mails in the check. Then she wanted to make payments to Disney so that the room would be paid in full before they arrived.

Is that okay to do? The paper she got states she is to make payment of 1 night to hold the reservation, but she's going to write a check for 1/2 of the total that will be due.

When I book hotels I just use my cc, so this is the first time I've known someone to send a hotel deposit in the mail.

There isn't any problem paying for more than your one nights deposit. We try to send in payments over time so that when we arrive its all paid! Its a nice feeling.

Just make sure to put the return address on the envelope. We had a little problem with one payment when I sent it in an old Disney envelope (went to Florida instead of new payment center in Chicago). Luckily it came back to me, but it was about 2 full weeks. My mistake.
