Hi All! I am new to DIS but was wondering if you could answer a few ?'s for me? :goodvibes

1)How early do the Mickey & Friends parking structures open? Also, wondering because we have 2 MM we are using through GAT & hope it open early enough?

2)Where is the dropoff point so that we could divide & conquer? Some of us could get in line and others could park the car in the structure.

3)Finally, we are driving and the night we get there we are having dinner at Goofy's & was wondering if we could park at the DLH?

Any thoughts & input would be greatly appreciated! We leave in 3 days! TIA:banana:

I just wanted to say Welcome! :yay:

I'm not the best person to answer your parking questions but I'm sure that the mickey and friends parking should be open for MM unless they redirect you to one of the other lots. Either way, they know people are coming early so they will have a parking spot for you. :)

If you can't park at the DLH for dinner at Goofy's then I'm sure you can park in the DTD lot (don't forget to get your ticket validated to get extra hours of free parking).

Sorry I'm not of more help but I hope you have a good time on the dis boards!

I park in mickey & friends and get there anywhere from 7:15 to 7:30 am and there are cars parked already. I know that doesn't tell you what time, but I am guessing at least 7 or maybe a little earlier.

The drop off point is on the other side of the park on Harbor Blvd. It is an easy swing around the block.

I have never tried, but I am sure you can, just a matter if you would have to pay or not. Based on my experience at PPH, you won't have any trouble parking.

This is what i recommend.
Drop everyone off at the 15 min lot, have them all go wait in line. Only have the driver park the car.
Right when you get out of the 15 min lot, you make a right into Timon lot. If its opened, then its good. Hop on the tram and head to meet the rest of the group.
Why 1 person park is because the driver can easily slip in places where only one more person will fit. if you have more than 1 person, you probably end up waiting longer.

If Timon lot is not opened, there will be directions that will guide you to the Mickey and Friends Lot. Follow, and do the same steps above with the tram.

First off, :welcome: to the DIS!

1. Mickey and Friends should open about an hour before MM. YMMV. There are no posted operating hours sign.

2. The dropoff point (15 minute waiting area) is on Harbor Blvd. Note that you can only enter the lot going south on Harbor Blvd. If you're going northbound, you will need to make a U turn at W. Manchester Ave and come back around.

3. Having dinner at Goofy's, you can valet at DLH or self park (there may be a fee) or park at DTD and walk over to the DLH (Don't forget validation for extra hours for free parking)

When we went, we entered via disney way and they didn't open the booths to take payment until a half hour before MM. We were booking it. I don't know if it's any better to go up to Ball to get to the garage.

and just in case you didn't already know...DLR raised the price for parking AGAIN. sheesh! we were there in August of '07 and it was $11. we just went last monday and tuesday, and the price per day is now $12.

they've raised the price $5 in the last 7 years. they're going to make it so that nobody can afford to park there. personally, when it goes up the next time, i'm going to stop parking there, and will just walk from the hotel.

If you belong to AAA and buy parkhoppers through them you get free parking.

Are there "in and out" privileges when parking on-site (for the parks, not hotels)? The reason I ask is because if we stay at Embassy Suites South, and drive in, and if I need to take my almost 2 y.o. DD back to hotel for a nap, I don't want to have to pay for parking again when we come back to join the rest of my family.

If you park at Mickey and Friends or Toy Story, yes. Just be sure to have your parking stub they give you when you pay upon entering the lot when you return. In and out privileges are just for the same day.

If you park in DtD, you get free parking for the first three hours (five if you get validation from a restaurant or the movies), but that is only good for that visit since when you re-enter your "timer" starts over again.

P.S. For anyone else reading the rest of this thread, please note this thread (up until BayAreaE's post) is over four years old. Various information in this thread is no longer true.

So, if I parked at DTD for 2 hr 55 min, left the parking structure, drove around the block, and re-entered DTD parking, I'd get another 3 hrs?

Yes, but it is just a parking lot, not a structure. Also, it is at the end of DTD, away from the parks, so you would need to factor in the walk back and forth. Probably not worth it. I don't think you want to do that all day long, every three hours. :lmao:
